Snowflake Thread: Coaching

Submitted by Black Socks on

Up 7 to uber conservative offense - to delay of game - to punt - to horrendous pooch - to allowing three consecutive bombs.  I am a sunshine blower but that is the worst game management I've ever seen.

From the conservative play calling with Fitz in OT, who could not gain yards all game (why not run Devin in those plays?) to the lack of sitautional awareness by our coaching staff on the delay of games (if Devin is too unaware to call TO that is what the HEAD COACH does) it is frustrating as hell.  The " I dont need to wear a headset" is lame as hell, and does not allow Hoke to overrule Borges on any play call nor have someone in the press box scream into his headset WE ARE DOWN TO 5 SECONDS on the play clock.  Its a joke.  Why not wear your f****** HEADSET IN OT AT LEAST?

I thought Hoke was more aggressive than Carr but he is not.  PSU went for it on 4th and inches in OT - win or lose.  Balls.  No misdirection run plays, no bootlegs, no reverses, no nothing because Borges is content whatever he does Hoke will hold onto him for another half decade.

It puts a lot of the focus on the ineptitude of the coaching staff on game day.  Lack of balls, strategy, Hoke with a fucking headset, OMG Borges, etc.  While this needs to be addressed, it overshadows the other big issue - This team is just not very good and is not getting better.  We played an average at best PSU team pretty much dead even in yardage, score, turovers, etc.  While the coaches blew this game, its not like we drastically outplayed our opponent.  So yeah, our team just isnt very good and has shit game day coaching.

If we play not to lose the remainder of this season we may struggle to become bowl eligible.  On the plus side the offensive line didnt lose anything with Lewan out...makes me hopeful that we may achieve average play next year up front.

And somehow gerg shutdown Oklahoma. This game just showed that Hoke and his staff have no sacks (I mean they have no balls).

BOB and PSU have ginormous balls, so they deserve it.

The things that pisses me off, and will continue to all week through the coaches press conferences is that not one of them will own up to losing the game as coaches. We will hear lots of talk about turnovers and dumb penalties but not one finger will point back at themselves. cowards

Yeah they'll talk about execution and "hanging in there". Saying we gotta do a better job running the ball.., well if you can't run certain plays stop running them!!!

Home = Fred Flinstone he is clueless. Put on a god damn head set. Idiot.

Pathetic play calling in overtime. Why not run Gardner once?? Just once?? Even if he gets 6 yards it would've helped our kicker. We are not an nfl team, do not rely on the kicker. Just sad. And that spot on Gallons catch was horrendous.

Well we probably would have won by 2 TD's had Gardner not shit the fucking bed on the road again and thrown 2 INT's on our 10 yard line..

If he plays mistake free we win easily..  Same thing goes for all the coaching blunders
