...but he seems like a perfect system guy for Beilein. Hopefully Booker or Blackmon join him.

I don't like back problems. They always seem to linger in basketball players.

on a Hello post. I think it's a rule. Welcome DJ! (D for Devin??)

We're loading up on three stars for 2014. Not the kind of class B1G contenders and deep run teams are built on.

ring a bell for you?
Ricky Doyle is a 4* by one recruiting site and is a virtually unknown because of his injury and the fact that he doesn't play AAU ball.
DJ Wilson has been hurt for the past few months.
Austin Hatch hasn't played since the airplane accident
Both could be a 4* recruit if they played more at AAU ball level. JB has unearthed recruits and knows how to identify talents. Remember GRIII? Purdue didn't want him at all when he committed to Michigan and he rose up to the ranking with strong play in HS and AAU. Remember Trey Burke? Committed to PSU and re-opened his recruitment when PSU coach left the program. OSU was his hometown team and didn't go after him. Remember THJ? I believe that none of the big 3 Florida schools wanted him especially his hometown, Miami.

DJ is probably a 4 year guy too. Great way to cap off the weekend.

I just finished reading the buckle-up thread, then this pops up. Question now is whether or not it's safe to unbuckle...

Well, it appears that Sam Webb was indeed spot on - this has been an excellent weekend for Michigan overall. Welcome to Michigan, DJ Wilson!
UMHoops has a rather comprehensive profile / evaluation for your perusal - (HERE).

Thanks. Sounds a bit like Caris but taller with a more developed shot. And with a much needed redshirt to gain bulk/strength.

I thought we were getting a new drum major, for whom "DJ" might be an appropriate name.

Yes, it would be possible to take Bolden in the late signing period if Michigan lands one of Booker/Blackmon. At that point it will be a question of is Bolden too good to not take.
Personally, I think you leave the option open to take him as Chatman can play the 2 in lieu of Booker/Blackmon and that would give you a potential 2014 class of
2. Chatman
3. Bolden + Hatch
4. Wilson
5. Doyle
EDIT: not that any of these players couldn't play multiple positions, just one set of lineups if you wanted them on the floor
October 6th, 2013 at 2:14 PM ^
If Michigan take either Booker or Blackmon, no more room for Bolden.

with the status of Austin coming in. I'm also not convinced there won't be more attrition at the end of this season as well. But yes, on strict scholarship count you are correct.

Horford has the spot for as long as he wants it. He should be in line for starting center duties next season after J-Mo and McGary are gone. I hope he stays as again, he is likely the best third string center this season in the B1G.

I will be stunned if Michigan doesn't have room for Bolden in the spring.

Welcome to the family. I'm sure he'll be a great addition and fit what Beilein is looking to do.
Although, purely from a fan's perpsective I might have preferred Grantham (yeah...I know he didn't pick us) because he seems like more of a physical presence who can stretch, as opposed to the opposite. We'll have Doyle as a C, and Donnal can be physical but I don't want to get too "stretchy" because we're still going to have to play in the Big Ten for 18 games.
All that said, he's an under the radar guy who I'm going to bet is way better than his ranking suggests. Four year players are great to have as well.

We get who we get and we don't get upset. Trust the killer B.
October 6th, 2013 at 2:28 PM ^
He will be a legit stretch 4. A redshirt may be needed to add a little bulk, but he is a perfect fit for Beilein.

Been mentioned, but:
MMB = Michigan Marching Band
MBB = Men's Basketball
Awesome news!

Maybe in the year 2063, recruiting will be so intense and crazy that not only will they have star ratings for cross country and rowing, but will have marching band recruiting.
John Smith. 5-8/180. Trombone position and has a 4.1 GPA. 5 star.
