Bedford beats Pioneer 28-21

Ricardo Miller was pretty much shut down, only a few catches. Big upset! Pioneer was ranked #6. Pioneer looked like they were going to blow them out after the first few possessions but Bedford clamped down on D in the second half. He is a lot bigger than I thought. Can't wait to see him next year for M. Go Blue!

Yeah your mules beat up on my Hornets when they played each other too. I think the senior class there is pretty talented as the senior class at Saline has always struggled against them during their high school tenure. I'm shocked, actually, that they beat Pioneer. They're pretty much a shoe-in for the SEC-Red title then. On the other side, Saline and Boisture are 2-3 (same record as Lincoln-- crazy I know). As an alum I'd like to know what's going on and hope they get their butts in gear. It ain't over yet, but this season is turning into a lost cause :/

When I went to school at Bedford the team was really rough. Glad to see them having a good season. Haven't had much luck since they left the GLL. Beating Saline, Huron, and Pioneer in a single year!?

The Chelsea announcer was keeping the crowd updated on SEC scores during the game, but I didn't catch his last couple updates, so I didn't know the finals of the Pioneer and Saline games until I got to an internet connection after the game. Big, big surprises. What a crazy week in the SEC. Bedford is surprisingly good this year -- this is the first year Chelsea hasn't played them since the Mules joined the SEC, and I'm actually glad they're not on the schedule. That game would scare me. The Saline win is looking a little less impressive thanks to the Hornets' continuing meltdown, but still: the Mules are good. Actually, the Mules have been getting better: they would have beaten Chelsea last year if they'd had a kicker on the roster. The game was tied and Bedford had the ball on Chelsea's 1 with time running out, but because of the total lack of any kicking game whatsoever -- seriously -- they went for it and failed to score. The game went into overtime, and Chelsea won it easily in the first ot. This brings to mind a story I love to tell just because it's so bizarre: I once got to see Bedford punt on fourth and goal. No kidding. Thanks to a combination of sacks and personal fouls, they went from first and goal inside the 5 to fourth and goal from the 45, and they punted. I've never seen anybody else punt on fourth and goal. That was a while ago, though, and they've obviously gotten a LOT better since then.

But, wow, Bedford must have been a beast. Congrats to them. Got Monroe next week. They won't be a push over. Well, they might be. Who knows. Go Pioneers! And, i might beleive the Pioneer QB was shut down, I find it hard to believer Ricardo was 'shut down'. Maybe. I could be wrong.
