OT: Friday Night Football/Baseball Open Thread

Submitted by Doc Brown on

Let's get an open thread going for tonight. Boise State playing Fresno and Max Scherzer is going for #20 for the Tigers. We can also make this the drinking thread.

Hoping for a Marlins win over #Natitude so the Braves can finally wrap up the division.

Debating on what to drink later.  Anchorage Darkest Hour, Stone 17th Anniv. I've had for a couple weeks or some good old New Glarus (Moon Man, Dancng Man, Beriner Weiss).  Ready for Michigan football this weekend though, that's for sure; I think we all are and are ready to rid of the lingering bad taste from last weekend.

It might be of minor note that Boise State is the decided underdog in this game. Fresno is four point favorite in this game, as far as I can remember, and Massey is giving the Broncos about a 1 in 3 shot at winning this one. On a few sites, the O/U on points is sixty-nine.

I watched most of Fresno's game against Rutgers earlier this season and Boise State's game against Washington. From those two games it's hard to pick a favorite in this one. Boise played really well in the first half against UW but got dominated in the second half. Fresno looked meh the entire game.

Would be nice if the Tigers could clinch at home this year, but they're gonna need a sweep and some help from the Astros, so thats a bit much to ask for.

The offense is doing what they need to do against a rather poor starter in Axelrod, hopefully they get 5 in before the rain starts.

Watching College Football Live. I did not know that Kansas State has beaten Texas five times in a row. Wow, yeah Mack Brown is sitting on a pit of flames.

Has the game started yet? I stopped by my neighborhood Peruvian roasted chicken place to pick up dinner and was told I have a 40 minute wait ahead of me for a whole bird. Y'all should try the Peruvian chicken if you haven't yet.

I just consumed a cold can of "something".  The label was gone and I was in a hurry beween diaper changes, MGposting and searching the garage for soccer cleats.
It was meatish with some fibrous textured things included.
I know it wasn't dog food because it died years ago.  The can was a newer type with a pull tab so most likely unspoiled.
If I had to guess, I'd flatteringly call it stew.

Just to be safe, I washed it down with the stuff in the green bottle.

So, I would have thought that perhaps - if you're Boise State - that you might be content with a PAT to tie and then stop the Bulldogs in order to go ahead by a score on the next drive, being that it is only the 2nd quarter. Is it correct to assume that the Chris Petersen version of balls-out play is a two-point conversion attempt in the early part of the 2nd quarter to go ahead by all of one? I may have missed something here, mind you.

at San Diego State women's soccer game with my kids' team. They look great, and M beat them a couple weeks ago. Had an Alpine Duet IPA and Nelson IPA followed by a good olé Racer 5.
