The augmented reality stuff is really cool. When a newer version of Yelp was released in the App Store not too long ago, it had augmented reality in it (it was a hidden feature). It was fun walking around seeing the shops and ratings on the iPhone screen.

Because it's so hard to look at a map to find things, or use your memory to remember that Wendy's serves burgers.

There comes a point where frivolous software just... I dunno. Yes, it's "cool". But I'd be hard pressed to find a use for it.

Your missing the whole point and the possibilities with this technology...

Imagine using this as a learning tool for your kid....walking around Washington DC locating monuments, locations of where presidents gave speeches, historic battlefields.

Or from a military standpoint...imagine soldiers patrolling Baghdad being able to identify building with known weapon caches, no-strike areas like hospitals/schools, etc.

This is far from frivolous....its the beginning of a whole new sector of technology. You're the guy in the 1800s that thought the automobile was a dumb idea.
