Oh look, notre dame is losing to their national rival purdue.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:26 PM ^
Do we want Notre dame to win or lose this game?
September 14th, 2013 at 8:40 PM ^
I can only root for the Irish in one game: against USC. I understand your point, it's the rational one, but... it's Notre Dame. I love watching them lose.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:43 PM ^
Never
September 14th, 2013 at 8:34 PM ^
That is how you sack a QB
September 14th, 2013 at 8:34 PM ^
Purdue blitzed, rushing 5 total. Rees had no time to throw, gets sacked.
I think I'll go throw up now.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:36 PM ^
it's early, but a really bad Purdue team is looking good against the Irish. This is the rest of their schedule:
MSU, Oklahoma, Az St, USC (pillow fight game?), @Air Force, Navy, @Pitt, BYU (just now rushed for another 30 yards against Texas), and @Stanford.
It's not hard to see 5+ losses for ND in there. That'd seem to put Kelly squarely in the hot seat.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:42 PM ^
Oklahoma is not good either. They won 16-7 vs W. VA. The same W. Va that imploded last year with Gino Smith and now dont have him. And all those games are at home except Stanford. They are the typical 8-4, 9-3 ND.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:49 PM ^
I totally see your point, plus the service academies and BYU will be very one-dimensional offensively. And jesus, Purdue just missed a chip-shot field goal.
September 14th, 2013 at 10:00 PM ^
I know it was only Tulsa, but OU may be figuring their offense out. I could see them beating ND.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:36 PM ^
Oh look, in 8 minutes of play, GERG Robinson's defense has already allowed 14 points.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:36 PM ^
PANICPANICPANICPANICPANICPANIC
Also, GERG happening in Austin
September 14th, 2013 at 8:37 PM ^
In regards to Texas, I live in Arizona and I can't seem to find their game on the old television. Just have to wonder how that Longhorn network is working out for them. I mean I got to watch lots of MAC teams today but no Texas game. Yes I wanted to watch GERG and his beautiful hair.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:39 PM ^
Yea besides money it has no benefit to the program exposure wise right? Does any cable provider give it without a subscription?
September 14th, 2013 at 8:37 PM ^
At least if Texas loses this game horribly nobody will see it since it's on Longhorn Network
September 14th, 2013 at 8:38 PM ^
I think we found the purpose for the Longhorn Network: to hide the games do no one can see their defense
September 14th, 2013 at 8:39 PM ^
Just tuned into Purdue-ND after a little moderating.
Why do I have the view of the camera on the satellite which is making this telecase possible on some of these plays? Did they explain something in the pre-game or is this Sweeping Epic mode for ND-Purdue?
Also, Rob Henry is 7-9 for 71 yards right now. Not a bad start for Purdue in the air.
In other news, Ole Miss has already put up over 100 yards on Texas and the 1st Quarter is not done. Things are going as you would expect them.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:45 PM ^
The TV cameras are way above the field. Purdue's stadium has the highest tv angles of any D1 stadium in the country. Except, I think, for Welsh-Ryan in Evanston. Cal used to be #1 in this weird stat, but they modified the camera layout when they renovated. Why do I know this stuff?
September 14th, 2013 at 8:39 PM ^
Midwest football is a joke.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:40 PM ^
And that's how you stop the run...mind blown
September 14th, 2013 at 8:41 PM ^
Purdue does not give a fuck about ND. They are not afraid. Good for them.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:45 PM ^
First quarter.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:49 PM ^
Point being? They're still pressing the receivers and stopping the run. What you see is what you get. What I've seen is a Purdue team with no fear. Could change if Notre Dame scores but hey, they're up for it.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:41 PM ^
Geez. Maybe ND and UM are both just not good.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:47 PM ^
That's been true before. Remember 2009?
September 14th, 2013 at 8:43 PM ^
Really impressed with Central Florida's quarterback. Nice arm, good accuracy, quick on his feet.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:44 PM ^
Was just about to rip Cal for punting from the 37. Nice fake.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:44 PM ^
We laugh about this rivalry (mostly because of Purdue's struggles), but for Purdue this is a major rivalry. It's one of those little brother rivalries, with Notre Dame as the big brother. ND might usually win, but Purdue gets way, way up for this game and usually plays tough at least for a while.
September 14th, 2013 at 9:05 PM ^
When I applied to grad school at Purdue I said attending there would be a good opportunity to root against ND one extra time per year. They appreciated the comment, and I got in and did well.
I should pull for ND in this game because it would help Michigan, which is and will always be my only college football rooting interest. But I can't root against Purdue in this game, and certainly can't root for ND.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:45 PM ^
Penn State down 24-34 to UCF
Illinois down 17-31 to (19) Washington
(11) Michigan barely (barely barely) beats Akron
(23) Nebraska loses 21-41 to (16) UCLA after being up 21-3
Minnesota only beats Western Illinois 29-12
Rough day so far. The Big Ten mockings are justified at this point
September 14th, 2013 at 8:47 PM ^
Frosh QB with little depth
Who expected them to win this one?
No excuse
UCLA is just better but probably no excuse
Their coach went down at halftime give them a break.
Also Purdue is winning so
September 14th, 2013 at 8:49 PM ^
The B1G looked pretty awful in week one. This is old news.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:49 PM ^
PSU is a surprise, but Wash over Illinois and mediocre Minnesota is entrirely expected. Nebraska's defensive meltdown isn't really shocking, either. Michigan's performance easily the most embarrassing B1G event today.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:50 PM ^
At least Iowa finally is beating their formidable in-state rivals.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:45 PM ^
Is Robert Kugler (purdue) related to our Patrik Kugler?
September 14th, 2013 at 8:48 PM ^
Brother
September 14th, 2013 at 8:45 PM ^
Cal sneaks in the qb as the punter and converts on a long 4 th down. Osu doesnt notice because the punter is number 16 too
September 14th, 2013 at 8:46 PM ^
Purlololol

Fear the Roos
September 14th, 2013 at 8:52 PM ^
I am deathly afraid of kangaroos and elephants now. Good thing all my vacations are in northern Michigan where all I have to worry about are lake flies.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:47 PM ^
complain all we want, but we only gave up 24 points for the *ENTIRE GAME*
Ohio has already given up 20 points *JUST IN THE FIRST HALF*
there. let that soak in and feel better.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:50 PM ^
No, I won't feel better because Akron is EMU in Gold and Blue.
September 14th, 2013 at 8:50 PM ^
Cal also has a fairly high powered offense
We played Akron
September 14th, 2013 at 9:09 PM ^
come on fellas. is the

required for every post?
September 14th, 2013 at 9:12 PM ^
I would say yes for the time being
September 14th, 2013 at 8:47 PM ^
Mother of god that hit in the Texas game...
September 14th, 2013 at 8:48 PM ^
The Illini just executed a reverse-pass to get into the red zone. Then they scored a TD on fourth down. 31-23 with the PAT pending.
