Collin really talking up the quality of people that make up the Michigan fan base and alumni.  I usually don't agree with a lot of his stuff but seems like he understands Michigan Univeristy.

I think you mean Michigan Univoracity. :)

Edit: meant for this to be a reply to the "Michigan Univeristy" comment above, but accidentally replied at the bottom as opposed to the post itself.

I've always thought that Cowherd is about 70/30 between very dumb/pointless/redundant opinions and intelligent/thoughtful insight. He's good at his job, certainly popular.

Which is one of his most endearing personality traits.  You have to love how he finishes the interview by making the point that the teams played its heart out.  Colin asks Hoke if he thinks Michigan is a Top 10 team - Hoke talks about the room or improvement.

Someone tries to give Brady Hoke a compliment ... his response? ... compliment others.

I remember back during the Harbaugh situation, he was saying Harbaugh would never leave Stanford for Michigan because the quality of Stanford and Stanford folks was just too high to give up (implying UM was not on that level).  I thought that was odd, since UM is pretty highly regarded in that respect as well (less so than Stanford, but same ballpark).  Anyway... whatever Cowherd.

I am not a Colin Cowherd fan, but I did find the question relating to Devin Gardner sort of interesting. You could tell on Saturday just how much of a competitor Gardner really is and how much he wants to be able to make a play even if it is an improbable one. I did chuckle at the "jump the boards" reference too during the question about defending teams similar to Oregon.

will be on the "Stateside" program on WUOM at 3pm today. 97.1 FM

The 70/30 split between bad and good content for Herd also applies to Rome, at least for me.

to Hoke on Monday to explain that crazy 98 number on the quarterback.  He backed off once he heard the reason for it; good to see he still got him on the show to talk about the game.

Re: the comments about Colin and Wolvermarines, Fhshockey...I always seem to be in the minority, but I actually love listening to Colin. I don't always agree with him, and you can tell he's an [three-letter word]. But I listen to or watch "The Herd" almost daily. He hates the Big Ten, but if you listen to him with some regularity you can tell he respects Michigan alums (I think he was bragging one time a couple of years ago about how his lawyer or some lawyer he knows well graduated from Michigan Law) and Michigan as a university, even if not always as a football program. Colin is elitist, so he likes whatever is among the best and he knows Michigan is one of the best schools in the nation. And he says almost every other show that he sees Michigan as a national title contender next season. I was listening at work when Hoke was on and afterwards, and, especially as a Michigan alum myself, I really loved the respect that came through today, especially considering it was in contrast to the ESPN's precious SEC/Alabama.

He took his show on the road to some college campuses during the RR era, in August, I think, and was very impressed by how the students brought it.  The passion surprised him.
