This is just some dipshit playing to his dipshit readers, but the MSU coaches don't seem too far removed from this philosophy. Hell, immediately after playing one of the dirtiest games I've ever seen in 2011 against us, one of their safeties said their goal was to hurt Russell Wilson the next weekend.

On a side note, is this like the 5th different twitter name for Gardner?   They keep changing his number and he keeps having to get a new handle.

if he's getting paid in any way for football opinions or reporting, it should be terminated. period.

even if he's just some anonymous messagboard wannabe tough guy, there's no place for that kind of bushleague shit.

If he were a bus driver or an office worker or a computer programmer or whatnot, then  offering his opinion on a sports message board probably shouldn't lead to firing.  But it's his job to offer sports opinions and analysis.  Thus, it's entirely appropriate to hold him accountable for the content and quality of those opinions and analysis.

I'm not sure this comment is so reprehensible that it deserves a firing, but if Rivals decides that's not the type of opinions they want representing their brand, they should get rid of him.

Dude it's not like people are asking for him to get fired when he works at a bank or something. He gets paid to write about football and he just wrote about how opposing teams should purposefully injure a college player. Are you seriously this dense or just committed to this bs narrative of people being too pc?

he's free to have his opinion, and he could wish physical harm on somebody if that's his bent. stupid fans say stupid shit all the time -- it's not like it hasn't happened here.  BUT, if he's being paid for football analysis or reporting by some entity with any interest at all in sportsmanship and fair play, yes, he should be fired.

even if his 'work' is for the sparty market, it can't be in the interest of whoever pays him for this 'expertise' to continue to do so after he has called for doing deliberate physical harm to players.

I guess if your offense sucks, drag everyone else down to your level by trying to injure their best players. Nice.

I can't wait to see opponent watch this week and read the write-up on them. Snark, snark, snark.

I see that Jim Comparoni was a star student at the Cobra Kai School Of Ethics And Sportsmanship. That's a pretty disgusting thing to say, let alone endorse. In the event anyone is unaware, Jim Comparoni is the publisher of Spartan Magazine, so he leads that effort.
