Mid Afternoon Games Thread
SDSU @ OSU is the big game here. Oregon is currently in the first quarter at Virginia, as is Buffalo at Baylor. South Carolina v. Georgia kicks off at 4:30.
Miller is currently being attended to on the field, still early in the first quarter, 0-0 with OSU inside the red zone after a punt.

Braxton not looking good.
September 7th, 2013 at 3:51 PM ^
Please. He'll be fine. Remember last year when he like died in the Purdue game?
September 7th, 2013 at 3:54 PM ^
There was one time I thought his knee got destroyed last season. Maybe against Penn State?
September 7th, 2013 at 3:51 PM ^
Dude was super distraught.
September 7th, 2013 at 3:52 PM ^
Radio says they're putting a brace on.
September 7th, 2013 at 3:53 PM ^
I miss living in San Diego. Is Braxton really hurt, or just dinged up?
September 7th, 2013 at 3:55 PM ^
The trainer thinks it has something to do with his MCL. On an apparently unrelated note, his helmet did go flying and he looked a bit out of it, although that could obviously just be pain.
September 7th, 2013 at 3:58 PM ^
That's not good. On the positive side, it looks like he left without it being immobilized. Maybe it's just a sprain.
September 7th, 2013 at 3:55 PM ^
I just wish there was a college football team in town :(. It would be fun to have a local team to follow.
Miller just dinged, but he did look pretty upset.
September 7th, 2013 at 3:56 PM ^
back out...not sure if its worth it to me. Guiton is a more than serviceable backup.
September 7th, 2013 at 3:58 PM ^
OB will always live in my heart.
September 7th, 2013 at 3:54 PM ^
Wish him a speedy recovery. We wanna defeat a complete Ohio team.
September 7th, 2013 at 3:57 PM ^
I hope it's the kind of thing that lingers all season and doesn't fully heal until their bowl game.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:16 PM ^
I'd like them to have a taste of it for once.
2007- Henne couldn't feel his arm and Hart had a leg injury.
2008- Threet was out (not that it would have helped much...)
2012- Denard's elbow
It's about damn time they have an important player be gimpy coming into The Game.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:34 PM ^
important player gimpy for the game you say? You mean like John Simon being unable to play at all last year?
September 7th, 2013 at 5:31 PM ^
Apples and Oranges...
September 7th, 2013 at 6:55 PM ^
How? He said important player, not starting QB.
September 7th, 2013 at 3:54 PM ^
but Dingwell does not fling well...
September 7th, 2013 at 3:55 PM ^
They've got a well done 3-3-5. It can be confusing if you're not used to it.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:07 PM ^
How is that good defense?
September 7th, 2013 at 4:16 PM ^
the D had a good series or two...then Kenny has been doing a good number on them since then. SDSU clearly outmatched on both sides, although good move to bring in a new QB to try something different.
September 7th, 2013 at 3:56 PM ^
As much as I hate to admit it, Braxton Miller is like a damn cyborg. He was essentially left for dead after Purdue last year, then came back the next week like nothing ever happened. I honestly thought he was done for the year after that hit.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:26 PM ^
He's not a cyborg, he's a baby. He just overreacts to any sort of injury, making people think it's more serious than it actually is.
September 7th, 2013 at 3:57 PM ^
Can't say I'm heart broken.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:09 PM ^
My kingdom for the return of moderating
September 7th, 2013 at 4:49 PM ^
Not necessary.
September 7th, 2013 at 5:09 PM ^
Holy shit, he didn't say he was happy about it, just not heartbroken. How many tears do you think the buckeye faithful shed when Denard hurt his elbow last year?
September 7th, 2013 at 3:59 PM ^
Depends on the degree if tear but he could be out for as little as 1-2 weeks or for the season if its a complete tear.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:04 PM ^
I hope you explain prognoses better than that for your patients doc.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:13 PM ^
Sorry, but haven't seen his MRI
September 7th, 2013 at 4:00 PM ^
Guiton looks like a bird when he does the clap.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:02 PM ^
They've got a third and goal from the 2.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:03 PM ^
Annnd that ugly game is out of its misery.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:03 PM ^
I have PSTD from the pre-snap clapping. NO SHERIDAN! NOOOOOO!!!
In other news, MSU's offense has pulled ahead 14-7 over their defense and into a tie for the season. STEP IT UP BULLOUGH!
September 7th, 2013 at 4:05 PM ^
Actually, their defense is up 14-7 this game...
September 7th, 2013 at 4:10 PM ^
Oops.
How long can you expect to score more points on defense than on offense? Notre Dame is going to hammer them.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:13 PM ^
Post Stress Trauma Disorder?
September 7th, 2013 at 4:24 PM ^
Visualizing that is pretty funny
September 7th, 2013 at 4:04 PM ^
really needs to schedule some real teams. Their schedule this year is Charmin soft.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:08 PM ^
To be fair, when they scheduled this game Hoke was still coaching there and they were looking good. Also, considering the fact that they almost blow it against a cupcake every year I wouldn't risk scheduling tougher OOC competition if I were them.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:13 PM ^
Home was not at utah
September 7th, 2013 at 4:16 PM ^
Better slow down or you'll pass out before the game.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:08 PM ^
I don't really blame them for the schedule. They've played Texas and USC in home and home series recently. They can't help it that Cal has gone from okay to bad in the 8 or so years since the game is scheduled.
I just checked our 2015 schedule. Utah and Oregon State out of conference, which is pretty good, but we're going to Utah on a Thursday?!? for no good reason. I think that's our first Thursday game.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:21 PM ^
Pretty sure the Minnesota game in 2003 (Navarres transcontinental ) was aThursday game.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:23 PM ^
Friday night, I'm pretty sure. Moved because of a Twins playoff game, IIRC.
September 7th, 2013 at 4:23 PM ^
2015 is probably the worst non-conference schedule we've ever played and today is almost certainly the last time we play a ranked non-conference team at home until at least the Arkansas series, and that's certainly no guarantee to be a ranked team. N
September 7th, 2013 at 4:42 PM ^
Really? Utah and Oregon State are okay programs. They aren't sexy, but the combo is probably better than Notre Dame and Connecticut.
I'm more appalled by our conference schedule in 2015:
Maryland
Northwestern
MSU
Minnesota
Rutgers
Indiana
Penn State
Ohio State
There are maybe two teams in that group that will finish the season ranked, including Ohio State. Either way, on paper that's an 11-1 or 12-0 Michigan team.
September 7th, 2013 at 5:41 PM ^
That's great news. Pack the camping gear and make it a 4-day weekend.
Now if they could somehow get it pushed back until ski season, maybe play it the week after the B1G season like we did for Hawaii a while back....
September 7th, 2013 at 4:17 PM ^
What motivation would they have to not have a Charmin soft schedule?
September 7th, 2013 at 4:22 PM ^
If the BCS formula took into account SOS. They should have left that alone IMO
