It's getting his name out there and using all forms of pub for his book. He's been here, Yahoo, news papers, speaking events, Reddit, NPR, and I'm sure places I haven't seen. Really getting it out there to all sorts of possible readers so that you can't miss it.

The Northwestern running back's name is Venric Mark. First name is Venric, last name is Mark. Bacon was using "Venric" as the surname.
I like Bacon's stuff and am usually annoyed by people who argue that he lacks credibility due to various insignificant errors they've managed to find. But to get the player's name wrong in this particular context was kind of a big gaffe.

I know he is interviewed a lot when it comes to Michigan football but it was really Bo who did him a favor.
I keep looking at his stuff hoping to find something fresh or unique about Michigan but its the same stories I have heard hundreds of times from other sources.

The reason I think Bacon is worth reading (and listening to) is that I believe he probably also knows a lot of stories that he isn't telling. And while you may never pry those out of him, they give him a good perspective on the general topic of college football.

From the AMA, this quote from a former MDen employee is a WOW experience for me:

I like Bacon. For everything he is or isn't in peoples eyes, he certianly is a nice person to talk to.
