OT: Best online betting sites

Submitted by Marvin on

I'm thinking of starting a gambling habit, and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for the best online betting sites out there.

On a different note, did anyone else hear Joey Harrington do the color commentary for the Kansas State vs North Dakota State game? He was one of the worst I've ever heard.

Why doesn't this country just do like Europe does and make it legal?

There should be a sports bet on the corner right next to the cash advance place.

I mean let's face it, if you want to gamble you're going to gamble, why not make it legitimate?

It just pisses me off. Legalize it already.

Whoops I apologize. It wasn't 5dimes that deposited it directly. Me and a friend went half on bets on some other site, and the site he used payed out winnings directly, but unfortunately I can't remember what the site was. I always ended up spending all my winnings from 5dimes so ive never payed out. On 5dimes you can deposit directly from your debit/credit account, but it might have to be a Visa card, I'm really not sure. Sorry for the confusion.

I've been on it for a couple of years and they even have a free pick em promotion for college and pro during football seasons. I won $400 in that last year

This is the issue I am having.  Many times in the past I have tried to put in bets last minute with spur of the moment type decisions, and haven't been able to with non-Visa cards.  This resulted in me having a few online accounts with $0 and getting phone calls from representatives.  I will not use Western Union, but am thinking of getting a prepaid Visa card or Visa gift card (is there a difference?).  Hopefully this will be accepted like a credit card.

WesternUnion is incredibly easy. I have deposited with 5Dimes twice using WU and haven't had any issues. You can even create a WU account and wire money online.

That's easier than using a credit card, in my opinion, because I don't want to fill out all the forms and provide 10 different types of ID these sites require when you pull money out. I feel a helluva lot safer using WU than sending a copy of my photo ID to Costa Rica.

Coming from someone who has lost a little bit of money, but A LOT of time on sports gambling, just don't do it.  Sure, you can win some money, but you are more likely to lose because of juice and pay out fees on the online sites.  And you are certain to get wrapped up into watching plenty of games that you would otherwise have no interest in.  Also, because these sites are illegal in the U.S., if one of them folds or decides to close up shop and not pay you, or decides to hassle you about payouts, you have no legal redress against them in this country.  It's a bad idea.  Why don't you instead spend more time on a more worthwhile activity?

I really am sure that

1) Michigan covers 8.5 wins

2) Michigan wins the legends

3) Michigan wins the B1G

4) Michigan wins the national championship

thats all I want to bet on....therefore I need a site I can trust to execute these bets

I've just started seriously betting this year. As long as you have discipline and strike when you can, there is money to be made. I am a fan of the money lines. I don't mind putting down 5000$ to win 1700$ when it's a 99% win chance. That $ line is the current ohio st vs San Diego state line. Sdsu just lost at home to a 1aa school. There is 0 shot of them beating ohio. Easy $ why bet the spread?

Not to sound like your parent, but when you're dropping four figures on one individual game, it only takes one fluke outcome to leave you seriously screwed.  If you gamble because you think it's a cute little hobby, that's one thing, but doing it because "there's money to be made"  can blow up in your face.  I would never approach gambling as a money-making endeavor.  If you've got some disposable cash and want to make more, why not just invest it?

No doubt 5G's a lot of money but with a big enough stack, taint no thang. Also, investing is gambling by a different name. Bets are bets. Sports betting just has a stigma associated with it.

The other part about it is look at the return cited...in 3 hours (All you gotta do is...).

You're on point though, speculative markets aren't for the faint of heart.

THIS.

I have never understood the term "gambling problem."

I mean I get it, but uhhhh... that's like being a "sex addict." A sex addict is a thing you call yourself when you're caught with your pants down in a hotel room on a business trip. Any other time you just call yorself Dave, or Tim or whatever your mother calls you.

for various NCAA BB Tournament "event outcomes"?  E.g bets on whether a team will make the Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight, Final Four, Championship Game, Win it all.  I like to use that info to construct my brackets.  I can't say I felt that the info I pulled from various sites last year was solid.

Also, does anyone know of a market leading successor to intrade.com (for an unbiased, or profit-biased, outlook on the outcomes of political events?)

Hi,

There are various online sites available for sports betting ,but all of them are not legal websites. You need always do thorough research before selecting any website.Always go for the reputed sites where you can get professional sports handicappers, as many illegal sites have the salesperson who do illegal scams just to earn money.I personally prefer AMAJORWAGER for free sports picks of MLB and NFL . Check this out for more information.

Tried betting once and lost a ton of money. Turned out that I am extremely bad at predictions. So I'd say that betting is a good option only for those people who are extremely good at making predictions. Also, it may be a good idea to find some predictions made by experts on the web. I know a good website with horse racing tips, and if you are interested in other sports you can find similar content on the web.
