Ticket Prices - ND
As someone trying to get rid of a pair of tickets for Saturday, it has been interesting watching the prices on stub hub. For all of the hype about the game and this being such a hard ticket, prices have really started to fall. It looks like singles are no longer available on mgoblue.com, but it would be interesting to know what the final dynamic price ended up being. Anyone actually have any sucess getting rid of extras?
I think this game is really proving the point that even in a year with ND, Nebraska, and OSU at home, you can get good tickets for every game in the secondary market at a better price than the season ticket price (when including PSD). Next year will be a mess.

We're still hoping for $325 each, but not sure how realistic that is. My parents ended up with a set for the season they aren't going to be able to use, so they're hoping to break even on the season as a whole.I have them on the ticket spreadsheet (mgoboard sticky).

I'd like to be there for the Harmon dedication. I am truly sorry to be missing that. But I have another engagement that day. I'm not sorry to be missing a night game in particular; I wonder how much the market is affected by older alums who don't want to go to a night game.
The two grand for this game doesn't even cover my PSD, which is now $2400.

Really? You aren't upset about missing a chance at the best atmosphere you'll experience at Michigan? As a student UTL 1 was easily the best atmospher I experienced and it wasn't even that close and you are willing to pass that up because you might not get to sleep until 1? I don't understand that.

I am out of town this weekend. I'll be at seven other Michigan games this year, and two other Big Ten football games. I'll see the ND game on tv. I was there for UTL #1. I'm not exactly lacking for college football.

You said you weren't as upset about missing this game because it was a night game. Yes you didn't say that you were happy to miss it but my point was that across college football night games tend to be the best atmosphers so in my opinion this should be one of the games you would be most upset about missing. The idea that a percentage of our fans might be less upset about missing games with a better atmosphere because they get home late is a little depressing to me.

UTL 1 was an epic finish, but I don't know if it was worth every penny. For the first 3 quarters, it was a horrible game unless you were an Irish fan. Granted the last quarter more than made up for it, but until then, the game was NOT living up to it's hype. I mean, for me, the day went something like this:
- Arrive in town around 1:00
- Wow, everybody is really drunk
- Have lunch and cocktail. Everybody is getting drunker. If I was 20 years younger I might be joining in on this debauchery
- Gametime, guy in front of me can barely sit up straight
- Desmond cries, I get a little misty too.
- Kickoff, punch self in face for 2.5 hours
- Lawl, did Denard really just fumble to himself?
- Jesus, if ND scores again, I'm leaving
- Tommy Rees DERP. Lawl!
- Holy shit, we're ahead.
- Goddamnit MRob! Well, at least we made it close
- Gallon WIDE OPEN!
- Roundtree EEEEEEEEE!!!!

how awful the first three quarters were, but as you recognize, can't have the dizzlying highs without the terrifying lows (or creamy middles).

If anybody is interested, let me know. They are going for about $200 to $250 on Law Open right now.
Of course, they are student tickets, so you have to get them validated or have an MCard that isn't expired. Also you have to deal with the GA.

StubHub being itself, the minimum right now seems to be a shade over $200, with the maximum for a few two-ticket packages being $1,000 or more.

Had an option for a single through the dynamic pricing when they went on sale and refused to pay the AD that much.

It started falling once the alumni tickets were sent out. Looks like most of the alums were getting tix just to sell them (those BASTARDS!!!)
Ended up selling my alum tix for $235 looking at the over supply on Stubhub and how few tix were being sold relative to supply. At least I didn't lose any money...
There is a very good chance that you should be able to pick up tix for the adjusted pricing ($200+) if you are patient.

I think you're missing the point. By definition, dynamic pricing isn't outpricing the market. Dynamic pricing is the market. And next year they will still make more money through dynamic pricing than they made in ticket sales last year, so it will still work. (That amount will be much less than this year's haul, but that's obvious.)

DB doesn't want to sell the tickets for x dollars and see them being sold on the secondary market for x + 50 dollars. He wants that 50 dollars going to UM. So if the secondary market pricing is about in line with the face value, DB nailed it.

And I don't begrudge Brandon doing exactly what you've described. I lilke the idea of Brandon's pricing Michigan tickets in such a way that even single-game ticket purchasers have to pay something that apporximates the per-game coast that season tickets coast when the PSD is rolled into the overall price.
All that I want, at the end of this year, is for Brandon and everyone else in the Athletic Department to get the message that their market for high-priced Michigan football tickets has limited out, and that there is no more room for PSD increases. Season ticket holders will begin to quit the program, and the flood of ticket supplies will really provoke a crash in the market.
A few days ago, I posted the link to the Athletic Department's own webpage that showed, to my great surprise, that donors and private supporters of the Athletic Department were the biggest source of revenue, bigger than television and licensing combined! Brandon ought to think about some better treatment, for his main source of revenue.

And I also agree with you. This past year's PSD increase was high enough that it made me think of giving up my season tickets and going to purchasing single games (because of my schedule, I can only ever make 3-4 games and there's no guarantees those are going to be the good ones). I would have done that solely on the principle of the large increase and that it felt like season ticket holders are bearing more of the cost than anyone else. I am willing to place a large bet that they won't be increasing next season, but even still season tickets will be a huge ripoff next year compared to single-game prices. I'm curious whether the AD recognizes that as a potential risk and has any plans to do anything about that...

Dynamic pricing is the market on the top end, but it has an artificial floor of face value. True dynamic pricing likely would have sold last week and next week for well under face value.

Did anyone experience scalping in person for the first UTL game? I'm just going to be in Ann Arbor with minimal hopes of actually going to the game, but I'm curious how the scalping market the day of and right up to kickoff was.

friends looking for tickets and there wasn't a ticket to be found a half hour before game time. Usually not a problem to find tickets but for this game, there wasn't even tickets to buy if they wanted to.
This game I'm having trouble moving a pair in section 9, row 13. Asking $225 if anyones interested.

Was there for first UTL game and when I got to town on Thurs, everyone said I'd be lucky to get seats for less than $300 each.
By Friday, was seeing $225-250 a ticket commonplace.
Ended up agreeing to purchase a pair of tix off a friend of a friend (~row 50, in the corner) for about $150 each.
Was supposed to meet the girl for tix at 4p before gametime. Lost phone signal completely due to the influx of people, so in a panic, priced out how much they were selling around the stadium ~6:30-7p and was seeing sub $200 per person prices.
Luckily phone service resumed and was able to meet my original seller. Your mileage may vary.

I sold 4 last week for $95 each. To good Michigan fans. I just can't imagine my tix going to a random ND fan, even for the extra cash. Can't do it. Would rather have some friends enjoy them at face value.
