Penn State just held off Syracuse 23-17.  Iowa doing their best to give away the Northern Illinois game right now.

This is the fourth time Ferentz has lost to a MAC school. Two losses to Western, one to Central and now Northern Illinois.

Huskies were impressive though. That program has really turned around. Ten years ago, they were putting up 10 loss seasons.

I would've sworn Logan Thomas was on his way to being a first round pick.  Sure he had flaws, but he was a sophomore with a lot of projection.

Now....he's a senior with a lot of projection.  And generally speaking appears to be a worse quarterback.

Thomas is 1 for his last 14 now?  Ugh.  Doesn't help when his receivers are dropping perfectly thrown deep passes, though.  Alabama's O hasn't been that good tonight, two special teams TDs.  All that departed talent on the O-line isn't easy to replace, even for them.

Oregon State is losing to FCS #4 Eastern Washington 29-17 at halftime.

And yay EMU! They're beating Howard right now and that game is on ESPN3.

  • Cincinnati beats Purdue 42-7
  • Illinois struggled against FCS Illinois State
  • Iowa loses to Northern Illinois
  • Minnesota struggled with UNLV and MSU struggles with WMU - both opponents are in the 90+ range
  • and Indiana gave us 35 pts to FCS Indiana State

Even OSU gave up 20 to UB

Granted, the level of competition wasn't great, but IU scored 70+. With that many possessions in the game, giving up 35 isn't horrible (more than doubled them up anyway).

Also, MN won their game pretty handily after a shakey start.  Purdue and Illinois are the new IU and Minnesota.

I think the B1G is going to be pretty interesting this year, and I like our chances.

Looking forward to seeing how Nebraska and Northwestern look tonight.

I've seen the run from the rock forward but this was the first time they showed behind the scenes of how the players got there.  It is a very impressive entrance - I think the Colorado one is also cool with the Buffalo running on the field. And Michigan of course. :)

Stat of the minute - Alabama has managed to accumulate 168 yards of offense and they are only averaging about 3.6 yards per offensive play, yet they are up by 25. Virginia Tech has more yards and only 10 points to show for it.
