Kelvin Grady Is Cool
I just watched the Monday presser. I think I love Kelvin Grady. Yeah, I said love. I want 120 Kelvin Grady's on the football team.

Thank God he doesn't have to drop back on D anymore...

How many years does he have in football?

I believe he has three years in football.

Him and Kevin are really great guys. I grew up around the same area as them and had the chance to play them in basketball and football a few times. Their dad is somewhat psycho and controlling but he has raised them to be quality young men.

He talks about going through what he describes as being at the very bottom. Is that just because he wasn't getting playing time, or was he forced to quit? If he made his own decision to leave basketball, why wasn't he going to school and all that? Sorry folks, I'm just trying to understand what happened.

I don't know about why he left basketball. But he wasn't in school because it was the summer and he hadn't joined the football team yet.

The part where he said he went back home and worked in a factory over the spring? 'Have you guys ever worked third? It's hard!" and also, "I stay humble after that. Any time I get down about practice I just think about that"
He does sound like he's got a good head on his shoulders; maybe it's not so bad to be a psychotic dad.

The part about working in a factory impressed me greatly as someone who worked in a factory (on 3rd) before going back to college. Also, despite the view of his father the man must be doing something right to make his kid work instead of just sitting around.

Maybe the niners should make crabtree work third in a factory. Maybe then he'll just take his 16 million. God...

I wish we could know what exactly happened on bball team, because I loved him there, too.
My favorite quote of all time, after being benched for a few games in a row Kelvin said, "Anything coach asks of me, if coach B asks me to run to Grand Rapids and back I'll do it."
Great attitude from a benched starter.

Is that Kelvin Grady got a job, in a factory, in Michigan. There are probably a bunch of unemployed experienced factory workers in the state wondering how that happened.
That said - I'm rooting for the kid. Sounds like he got the perspective he needed.

I know a lot has changed economically, so I don't know how things work now, but it used to be common to hire students during the summer - for a lot less money.

but i dont think its too too hard to find a job as an entry level person at a factory, because the start pay is nothing compared to the ppl that have been there for years...2 of my roomates last summer got part time jobs at one of the Big 3's factories fairly easily, they just had to join the union and everything

After last saturdays game, I went to BD's Mongolian BBQ in AA and I sat at a table with my friends. About ten minutes after i sat down, Kelvin and his mom (who is white which i didnt know) sat down at the table next to us. He was in the full michigan warm ups and i congratulated him on the victory. I wonder why Kevin wasnt there with them? All in all though, he seemed like a pretty cool guy

The fact that Kelvin gets quality PT shows just how good of an athlete he is. I'm glad he stayed at the U. I'd love to see a halfback pass from Kevin to Kelvin. That would be great.
