I like "Radioactive" the song on the best 2013 hype video IMO. The drum/bass over the PA could queue the chorus as a crowd chant:

"I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones

Enough to make my systems blow

Welcome to the new age, to the new age

Welcome to the new age, to the new age

Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive"

It could be shortened, but I think that would sound pretty cool if 109,000 people could learn the words.

This leads directly to a large fluffy yellow squirrel-man dancing on the field with the cheerleaders. Jay-sus H Cristo the whole fucking world is an endless spinning hype gyro, can we not just have a dignified traditional kick-ass football game in our awe-inspiring stadium? We already love it with all of our hearts. Stop fucking with it.

Know the guys from the dorm my freshman year that tried to get that going........so glad it did not. Nice enough guys,  but just not at all down with any type of mascot. This corporate-like sizzle video for the 'new' chant makes me think this is once again possible, along with freeeeee teeeeee-shiiiiiiiiiiiirt and hot dog guns.....the type of things that prevent me from ever attending professional sporting events unless there is a gun pointed to my head.

The actual Wolverine suit itself may not be that that offensive, but the hair on #4 certainly is.....a cross between Flock of Seagulls & Good Fellas....really do not miss the 80's even a little bit.

Marty:  Let's...uh talk a little bit about the history of the group.  I understand Nigel you and David originally started the band wuh...back in...when was it...back in 1964?

[ ... ]

David:  So we became The Originals.

Nigel:  Right.

David:  And we had to change our name actually....

Nigel:  Well there was, there was another group in the east end called The Originals and we had to rename ourselves.

David:  The New Originals.

Nigel:  The New Originals and then, uh, they became....

David:  The Regulars, they changed their name back to The Regulars and we thought well, we could go back to The Originals but what's the point?

Nigel:  We became The Thamesmen at that point.

How is this new? Doesn't one side of the stadium say "Let's", another say "Go" and the rest say "Blue" already?

Isn't there a Michigan Marching Band song called "Let's Go Blue" that they play on occasion and we all yell (softly from our seated position) "Let's Go Blue"? (Parenthetically, we don't seem to do this as much as we used to.)

So now what? Radom players will appear on the score boards saying "Let's Go" and we yell "BLUE!" ??? (Maybe they'll do this exactly when Temptation finishes to attempt to side track "You Suck". / I am surprised the student section hasn't figured out how to wait for the two added notes and then yell by now.)

Anyway - whatever - nice job by Devin though.

has some great Charisma though.  He seemed pretty comfortable in front of the camera.  That script was pretty forced and cliche but I think he did a pretty good job.  I hope he shows his personality this year during interviews.

That aside, stupid idea from the AD and I agree with the comments above about that.  DG is the man though.

this one smacks of some marketing team sitting around a conference table and the top dude says: "hey, I have an idea ..." Everyone else nods up and down and exclaims how it is the best idea ever. Then the top dude says "let's do focus group research to test it".

So they bring in the market research consultants, and they do several focus groups across Michigan, LA, Chicago, NY, and DC - maybe Tokyo, London, Paris, and Berlin as well.

Of course, any market research firm worth it's salt knows the top dude pays the bills and chooses repeat vendors, so somehow, even if the true Michigan fan in every city says "huh? I'm confused", the idea being tested is concluded the BEST IDEA EVAR.

Granted, this is not so bad - more funny for lack of originality. But this is how things like Edsal (or products with passive names like "Vista") come to be.
