I will start to marinade the meat tomorrow, and pack the car with all the tailgating stuff on Friday. Man, I wish I could just drive the five hours now and just drink/cook/eat for the remaining hours until the game. I can't wait to see us roll over CMU. Even with all this running talk, I still think Borges prefers to pass; that dude loves playaction. I think I charted a game last year where we went play action out of 22 personnel 80% of the time. When he loads up the formation, it's usually pass.

I rather liked how Lewan came out as a leader trying to set the bar for the offensive line there,  expecting nothing short of dominance, and especially this quote:

"I expect all of them to push guys off the line of scrimmage, protect our quarterback and make sure we get yards."

Three days, folks....not too long now.

seeing a senior/captain offensive tackle, senior #1 receiver, senior tailback, and redshirt junior qb might've just put me over the edge. Isn't filling in with young talent around that kind of senior leadership exactly what a good program tries to do once or twice every five years.?Have I not been seeing the forrest for the trees when I've been thinking we're still a couple years off?

I might need a kool aid stomach pump.

It's interesting that people are still discarding Drake Johnson as a real option at RB, and I'm not sure why other than people still hanging on his recruiting profile. He was a guy who didn't go to camps and spent much of the off-season focusing on track, and played for Pioneer which doesn't get scouted a whole lot.

However, we know he's crazy fast and pretty big for a guy with that speed, and we know he put up video game numbers in high school. We also know the coaches said good things about him last year, and continued to do so this fall, backing that up by giving him plenty of reps. I don't think he'll overtake Fitz or anything like that, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him get half a dozen carries a game.

Now Pioneer HS - the one right across the street from Michigan stadium - doesn't get scouted a lot.  OK

I heard the same argument for Thomas Rawls, probably from you, Lousiana2.

Drake may be underrated (probably not, but maybe) but it's certainly not because he went to a giant high school right on a major college football programs home base.

Why would the school being new campus have anything to do with schools other than Michigan scouting him? Because obviously we did.

And that big school is usually mediocre at football and hasn't produced a big recruit in as long as I can remember. Most schools in Michigan aren't heavily scouted outside of the catholic league or PSL. All other kids need to go to camps to get scouts to notice them. Drake did not.

one will test what they got and can they bring it. I do like Devin saying that they intend to be offensively aggressive and finish. When you become efficient and get 6 more often than settling for 3, your defense automatically becomes better because the other team has to match you and press to do so. I expect this team to experiment with a lot of ways to score this year now that the homerun threat from the backfield is less pronounced.

Michigan can beat you a lot of ways with this team. And that is why it will be nice to see Saturday's audtion on how things will play out this season.
