Urbz gonna Urbz: No blue allowed at Ohio
Didn't see this posted. Either that or I'm just blind or lazy.

Can anyone honestly not say he's making a fool of himself?
August 23rd, 2013 at 6:44 PM ^
We don't allow red. What's the difference apart from he's a copycat?
August 23rd, 2013 at 6:46 PM ^
You're wasting your time, don't even try
August 23rd, 2013 at 6:48 PM ^
Does Brady Hoke explicitly disallow red? Or simply not wear it himself?
Serious question. Because my understanding is he doesn't wear red himself, but there's no prohibition on others having a dash of red.
Bottom line -- meh, whatever. It's all just PR. I doubt Meyer really cares. But this gets press, and press is worth money as boosters donate more because of things like this. It's all part of the process.

No joke I was asked to remove my red tshirt at the 2011 coach's clinic. A student manager came up to me with a Michigan tshirt and asked me to change.
August 23rd, 2013 at 7:42 PM ^
So...free shirt? I'm cool with that.
August 23rd, 2013 at 8:10 PM ^
but I haven't heard of that policy. I thought it was Hoke's personal choice.
August 23rd, 2013 at 8:23 PM ^
More important, why were you wearing a red shirt??!

I thought prostitution brought home more bread than that...
August 23rd, 2013 at 10:22 PM ^
Gardner's and Morris's practice jerseys are orange (normally they'd be red). I believe there was an article a few months back about us getting those from Oregon State.
If true, then I'd say Hoke takes it beyond just a personal preference. Not there's anything wrong with it, or with Meyer not allowing blue. I like it, personally, I think it's bringing back some of the choppiness to the rivalry. I want to see some guys get into it like Woodson/Boston in 97. Seeing those guys go at it was fun, you knew they took a lot of pride in their respective schools, and who they represented.
August 23rd, 2013 at 7:18 PM ^
Hoke hates red. Didn't even wear it at SDSU. Meyer wore blue all the time at Florida and yes, this is a copycat move.. Dude is a fraud. Get your own shit urbs
August 23rd, 2013 at 7:29 PM ^
I have never heard that Michigan tells outsiders like NFL scouts that they are not allowed to wear red. If that is the case I think that's dumb on our side too. And yes, he looks like a copycat, and this isn't the first time you could say that about him.
August 24th, 2013 at 11:47 AM ^
We don't allow red. What's the difference apart from he's a copycat?
That's the point right there. It was original when Hoke did it. Meyer should come up with his own ideas.
August 23rd, 2013 at 11:44 PM ^
It is becoming institutionalized. Witness, just today I played U of M golf course and the starter went out of his way to explain to us that the forward tees (for women and juniors) are no longer red. Instead they are maize. Championship are black, then there are blues, whites, and maize. This is deliberately in line with Brady's no red policy.
As an aside, the course was in beautiful shape, the weather perfect, and from the top of the course at the 10th green you could distincly hear the sounds of a spirited Wolverine football practice. A great day in A2.

Wow, some great imagery for a Friday night. Also very much looking forward to your stories when the time comes closer, on a bit of a private note.

Still on course? Great! You can contact me any time when you are ready to get fired up for this adventure. All best.
August 23rd, 2013 at 6:44 PM ^
Who cares what they do down in that dump? Try stopping Brady from marching down there in his Michigan best.
August 23rd, 2013 at 6:44 PM ^
Meyer is obviously supporting Hernandez and the Bristol Bloods.
August 23rd, 2013 at 6:46 PM ^
How original!
August 23rd, 2013 at 6:47 PM ^
gangsters u might as well make them wear your colors only. Orange prison suits and red only in cbus.
August 24th, 2013 at 10:01 AM ^
Maybe they should change from scarlet and gray to orange and more orange...
August 23rd, 2013 at 6:48 PM ^
On the first day NFL scouts were allowed to observe Ohio State's practice this month, at least two were wearing blue. And at some point during their time in Ohio State's facility, Meyer's message about what not to wear was passed along through Ohio State and staffers and even involved some players yelling to the scouts that blue was not welcome.
If I were an OSU player I don't think I would be yelling at NFL scouts...All in all though this seems like harmless rivalry fun.
August 23rd, 2013 at 6:48 PM ^
Nice job moron, you banned jeans. One of the most common articles of clothing.
Or in the case of people in ohio, no more jorts. GASP!
August 23rd, 2013 at 6:50 PM ^
They'll just wear Zubaz instead.
August 23rd, 2013 at 7:03 PM ^
I want to +1 you so bad right now!
August 23rd, 2013 at 8:11 PM ^
I wonder what else you want to do to him.
August 23rd, 2013 at 8:19 PM ^
I can see the headline now, "Neil Diamond Forced to Sing 'Forever in Red Jeans' at Ohio Stadium Concert."
August 23rd, 2013 at 6:49 PM ^
who cares?
August 23rd, 2013 at 6:58 PM ^
...when does it start again?
August 23rd, 2013 at 6:55 PM ^
What will they do when UM goes to Cbus and leaves them black and blue?
August 23rd, 2013 at 6:58 PM ^
program started.
August 23rd, 2013 at 6:58 PM ^
Let me get this straight. Players yelled at NFL scouts? What if the team scouting you...has blue in their NFL teams colors?
I can't stop laughing.
August 23rd, 2013 at 7:00 PM ^
that's what it is. we should buy red toilet paper for the away teams bathrooms BTW.
August 23rd, 2013 at 7:46 PM ^
I am Gwhizz and I approve of this post.

Today has led to a nice segway into my post later on about how Indiana is wearing shirts during fall camp.
Idiots.

Like one of those electric scooter things?
August 23rd, 2013 at 6:58 PM ^
Don't call him "Urbz" because that is beyond lame. Don't obsess over "Urbz" because that is beyond lame. Don't post countless threads about a guy no one on this blog gives a crap about because that is beyond lame.

August 23rd, 2013 at 7:01 PM ^
and the players joined in yelling at them about wearing blue? That's like yelling at the person evaluating you for a pay raise or promotion at work.
August 23rd, 2013 at 8:20 PM ^
You don't think the scouts took it in good spirits? Being able to make your interviewer laugh is a useful skill.
August 23rd, 2013 at 8:25 PM ^
Did you read their quotes? They did not take it real well.
August 23rd, 2013 at 8:28 PM ^
When they actually made them change clothes, instead of just joking about it, they probably crossed the line into "belligerent".
Like I said, making your interviewer laugh is a good skill. Pissing him off is not.
August 23rd, 2013 at 7:05 PM ^
And Brady Hoke doesn't wear red. Who gives a shit?
August 23rd, 2013 at 7:06 PM ^
He's a blood! Have him arrested
August 23rd, 2013 at 7:15 PM ^
No blue? he just cut his recruiting prospects in half. bloods only.

"With Ohio State rolling and entering the 2013 season at No. 2, it's Meyer's world. Those who visit don't necessarily have to pay rent, but they apparently do need to be careful with their wardrobe choices. "
To be sure, it's probably just rivalry fun taken to more zealous level than it should have been given the company, but I think this calls for someone showing up at an OSU practice with a simple white or gray t-shirt that has on it, in blue lettering, "This shirt is not blue."
August 23rd, 2013 at 8:13 PM ^
Urban is pissing off NFL Scouts. That's another reason to not be a Buckeye
