I expect a big year from Funchess. I'm hoping that Borges targets him at least five times a game. I think we will Butt play a significant role as well and look for those two in some goal line packages. I think our offense has the potential to be top two in the B1G as I look for Fitz to log another 1000 yard season in spite of splitting some time with Green.

I don't think we're ever going to put up the type up pure offensive numbers like Nebraska and OSU due to the differing styles of play, however, I do think we can be just as efficient and dangerous. So I guess it depends what your definition of "top" offense is.

Dan Ferrigno was talking at length about Devin Funchess last week - LINK

“We’re trying to develop that part of his game where we can leave him in more and have him be even more versatile, be able to block and have that element in your offense,” Ferrigno said. “With (offensive coordinator) Al (Borges) and what we want to do on offense, you don’t want to wave a flag and say ‘every time (Funchess) comes into the game it’s probably going to be a pass', or 30 percent chance it’s going to be a pass to him.”

It also mentioned that Kevin Koger, who is back as a GA, and A.J. Williams have been working with him on the blocking aspect of his game. I would think that, between the flashes of Funchess last year and another offseason of development, Devin Funchess is poised to have a pretty good year in this offense.

The ad that played before the CTK on mgoblue was for a movie.  I didn't notice what movie it was, but I did notice that they were prominently playing A Better Son/Daughter by Rilo Kiley, and thought that it was very appropriate.

No doubt in my mind that Funchess will have a breakout year.  One thing on his side is the loss of Darboh which will likely have him split out wide more.  He is the definition of a miss-match.
