I've often wondered how coaches of teams like Central or Western or Akron prepare their teams to play Michigan or other D1 powerhouses. Yes, there's a chance Central can beat Michigan ... but it's a very slim chance.
More likely the coach of a team like CMU urges their players to play smart and never give up regardless of the score. This game becomes both a big paycheck and a learning opportunity for hanging tough in games later in the year.
