Even if the DEs make great moves, no push by the interior DL means all the QB has to do is step up into the pocket to make the throw. Clark and Ojemudia's (just to name two DEs) success will be significantly affected by how effective Q and Pipkins and the other interior DLs will be inside.

Wow... Make sure to listen to the podcasts if you get the chance. There is a great deal of inside information being discussed during these interviews with the coaches today, including breakdowns of Bryant's play this fall, Avery's swap, the growth of the linebackers, etc.

Worth your time.

I do the same thing & download to the Apple Podcast app, but sometimes not all the podcasts load so I have to delete the subscription and resubscribe to get them all. Not sure if anyone else has that problem. There was an update a few days ago to the WTKA app, but the podcasts still stop after a few minutes

which is one reason he was held out of the scrimmage in the stadium. I have no clue whether that's normal after knee surgery, or whether it's a bad sign.

Bryant's knee "had to be drained", he was heartbroken when they told him he was being held out of the scrimmage.  Doesn't sound serious in terms of keeping him out

Morris was held out to "rest him a bit".  Commence baseless speculation

Great show this morning

Did Roy Manning hint that Ryan may be back potentially sooner than the prior timeline?  That would mean before October?  I heard Ira and Sam speculating, saying September wouldn't be worth it given the schedule and so on, but I didn't hear Manning's original comment.

Not an interview this morning, but Sam talked with Pipkins on strengths of Miller, Glasgow.

Pipkins says Miller is a student of the game, very intelligent.  As an example he could tell which way Ondre was going based on his stance.

Says Glasgow is bigger, tougher to get around and across.

Sounds like Justice Hayes has the 3rd down back thing.  Sam says they're looking at a three-headed monster at RB if I heard that right, would assume that means Fitz, freshman, Hayes on 3rd down.

Drake Johnson is getting a lot of mention by Webb.

Any more on what he said on Bryant? Is it fine his knee is getting drained right now? If anyone could post other tidbits of the show it would be appreciated. Thanks.

in an earlier thread, but James Ross was asked who he needs to pay attention to when he meets them in the whole for a collision.  He said he can take on whoever comes, but if he has to prepare for someone it's Bryant.  This is on top of Demens saying the same thing last year.

Hoke said when Bryant hits people, there's a thud.

getting off blocks, or missing them entirely.  Hoke talked about "block destruction", which is just an awesome term.  Mattison talked about being a smart football player.  Don't have to always take on that block, sometimes better to get there sooner or work around it.

Hoke said Morgan had his best example of that in the scrimmage Saturday night.

Sounds like it was a night scrimmage in the stadium?  Said they had a walk-through in the morning, prepped similar to a game day.
