Question in regarding College Gameday in Week 2

Submitted by WingsNWolverines on
It's quite obvious CG will be at the Clemson vs Georgia game in week one however with September 7th being the second night game in Michigan history are the odds good they will have Desmond and the gang back in Ann Arbor for this one again? I haven't seen much about it online. Anybody else hear anything?

I'd guess its a good chance with the other big game being South Carolina vs Georgia. Doubt they go to see the Dawgs two weeks in a row, particularly if they get beat week one.

Looks like the only other big games are:

  • Florida at Miami
  • South Carolina at Georgia
  • WVU at Oklahoma
  • Oregon at UVA

I doubt they'd go to Miami (no fans, Miami not in the top 25) or Georgia again. Then the next two games are kind of ho-hum. I'd say it's a pretty sure thing they'll be in A2

Come prepared with your Gameday signs. So much material on Notre Dame this year

Looking at the other games for that day, I'd say our chances are pretty good.  The best games we'd be competing for are...

Florida State @ Miami (noon)

South Carolina @ Georgia (4:30)

West Virginia @ Oklahoma (7:00)

Washington State @ USC (10:30)

The majority of everyone else will be playing 1-AA teams that day.

It'll undoubtedly be Clemson-Georgia the week before, and I doubt they'll want to showcase Georgia on Gameday for back to back weeks, so I think that eliminates Georgia-South Carolina.

UM-ND is really the only logical choice there. Great matchup, huge fan bases on both sides that'll be watching, and its the last time ND comes to Ann Arbor for what may be a long time.

Looks like the networks for those games would be.....ESPN, ESPN, Fox, and FSN.

Can't imagine they would pass up the last UM/ND game in AA for the forseeable future.

Doubtful. If VaTech was better they might get the nod since they're playing Bama, but I bet most people are predicting a blowout on that one. I for one am. They're not even ranked, and they're playing the two time defending national champions. Eeek.

LSU-TCU is a possibility, but Clemson-Georgia is a top-10 matchup, and they've done the opening Gameday at the Cowboy Classic for the past two years.

This has been discussed ad nauseum and yes, it is likely ESPN will come to Ann Arbor for the ND game.

Desmond said on twitter a few weeks ago in a response to someone saying that we were the game for that weekend. Not searching through his entire twitter for the tweet (sorry) but I was very excited when I saw that we were getting gameday.
