OT - What are you doing tonight?
So, what is everyone up to tonight? Any fun plans? If you are drinking something, what are you drinking?
I have been studying this evening, now I'm taking a break to watch the Tigers and the NBC Wrestlemania special (yeah, I enjoy the art of pro wrestling, don't judge me). I think after I'm done tonight, I will open up a bottle of Stone W00tstout.
Most importantly the first football game is 28 days away!!!! I can't wait!
Whitsun with fresh lemon and lime
My wife and I are having a fire in the firepit.
Why hasn't a spring / summer league football league been successful yet? Goddamnit, I'll watch Bowling Green v. Marshall on Tuesday, November 6th, but I can't find any damn football (or ANY sport) on during the summer. In the future I see the MAC / non-big5 conferences switching to spring/summer to avoid competition with the Big Conferences.
Very interesting. I would love this, and realistically with the talk of the super division, I can see it for the smaller schools grabbing some revenue.
Can you imagine some if the upsets that would happen? A good Mac team at the end of their season taking on a team that just started and might not have all the rust worked out.. It would make for some very interesting stories. I really enjoy this idea, good post.
Original post was deleted. It was mentioning football right now and how cool it would be if MAC and non Big 5 conference teams were playing right now. On topic, a bonfire would be quite enjoyable after such a beautiful day in Michigan.
and done with barn chores. oldest boys finishing up with cows.
about to stand up and put burgers on the grill.
checking tiger score.
happy saturday and go blue to all of you.
Well, after getting to visit the top of the WTC, and take in the views and the experience... I'm just getting home now and about to make empanadas with the girlfriend. Beer of choice: one Leffe Brune left, then switching to Negra Modelo. Queue "Oh what a night"!
need to catch up before it resumes!
Netflix just posted the first half of the new season, so i will be catching up on my BB after the Tigers finish off the Sox.
I have already seen those 8 episodes of season 5 but I was wondering when it would get put up on netflix. I'll likely watch the 8 episodes again starting tomorrow before next week Sunday to get me more pumped.

Citra Pale Ale by Oddside Ales. Love this brew.
stereo is on, beer is flowing and hot dogs are grilling.
Edit: Might have overstated my hot dog situation. I'm in the apartment living phase of my life and have no grill. I have a George Forman, a stove, oven and most standard pots/pans, basic cooking necessities and plenty of seasonings. Anyone have any tips for making a good hot dog in an apartment?
Nu-Wave oven, as seen on tv. Go google the silly thing - there are fans across the universe. I can make roasted asparagus in about 5 minutes with it. Hot dogs come out with grill marks. Not a true substitute for a grill, don't misunderstand, but it does an amazing job with a lot of food. It is the only way I cook bacon now. There is still clean-up, but it is all contained inside.

but I lack a Nu-Wave oven, thus limiting the utility of your response. Seriously though I'll keep a look out for one at a decent price.

I haven't done dogs, but plenty of brats... It works great to brown them in a frypan for 5 mins (flipping frequently) in a dime size blob of oil, then simmering in ~1/4 cup of water for 12 minutes (water nigh boils away. Covered for both steps.
Me and the fam are at the Drive-In getting ready to watch The Wolverine and Grown Ups 2
working a 12 hour overnight... only 9 1/2 more to go!
I'm at the hospital chillin' in a room till the next "activity period" at 11pm for my 1 day old daughter in the NICU.
Congrats on the baby
that's serious stuff. blessings to you and that daughter of yours. hopefully the mgobloggers provide a welcome diversion from the intensity of the situation.

this blunts for you!
Well, um, actually got a pretty nice little Saturday planned, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time.
Drinking: Sam Adams Octoberfest. I know not how or why it is here, but I do know that I am not mad about it.
Doing: Catching some of the ESPN 30 for 30s on Netflix that I have been meaning to watch (Alabama/Auburn rivalry, Bo Jackson, Gretzky, etc.).
Watching the Tigers about to get their 7th straight win and then probably watch an episode of The Newsroom on my On-Demand. Just got into that show this past week and love it.
Burning three Ohio State t-shirts that my next door neighbor has/had. He and his wife don't follow any kind of sports, college or pros. His wife got him the three t- shirts in Ohio at a rest stop when they were on there way to visit family in Georgia. I have pics but don't know how to post. I can send them to someone but not until tomorrow morning.

Seems like a pretty aggressive move (re: burning)
Free Flyleaf/P.O.D concert with a beer garden tent. #Winning

I'd go. I saw P.O.D. once before when I was in 10th grade after Satellite came out. They used to be my favorite band but I haven't listened to them hardly at all after that album came out. Would be a fun walk down memory lane

It was a legit concert, Flyleaf stole the show though, that chick was rockin hard as shit
As for myself, I am working on some Blue Moon as the Tigers game winds down here. Later on tonight, I will get ready for the trip to Fankenmuth tomorrow - just an overnight thing, but the kids are excited to got to the Bavarian Inn again. If anyone needs MGoAssistance, I will be at the bar in the Ratskeller trying to convince the staff that I am good for the beers.
While the blog was down today, we took the kids to the Detroit Zoo and ended up getting about 100 photos of penguins, so I suppose that is somehow useful. My daughter wanted to get in and test the underwater camera that we bought her, so we had to have the normal "being in the same tank with flightless birds is a bad idea" talk that most parents undoubtedly have at the zoo.
Not to bring the days events into question, but under what circumstances are 100 photos of penguins useful? Kids are Crosby fans? Running a National Geographic knockoff? Pulitzer material? Inquiring minds must know.
I look around for the door where she can go swimming with them. Learning how to socialize is very important!
After the sparkling MGOREVIEW we got I just had to check it out...
because of that picture.
Who was the poster back in the day with this for an avatar? That one always slayed me.
At the four seasons. Carib flowing well. Just finished dinner on the beach. First time here and its fucking paradise. Love the West Indies
Uh...khakis.
Wait...I misunderstood the question.
And drinking a fine IPA.
Hangin' at the Hilton, watching the kids swim and reading HTTV. Kudos to all the contributors. Wind in your hair, right on the money! Go Blue!

Love Ocean City, MD!! I live in Virginia Beach now and it has been a few years since I have made that detour on my way to Atlantic City. Is Seacrets still there?
