You're stuck at home & it's boring.....summer 08.......

Getting paid to do nothing doesn't suck as bad as working but it's usually more boring.  There's nothing on TV, I've downloaded and watched every movie I can think of (The Deer Hunter kicks Apocalypse Now's ass BTW), I've finished GTA IV, I'm almost tempted to like read a book or something but fuck that. It's been about a month since I woke up before noon. Thankfully, drinking with breakfast really shortens the day. I realize this topic title will probably apply to more students than teachers but, as some of you will find out later, it's basically the same thing except you're really old, uncool, overweight and your wife's nagging you to do yard work or some shit.

I have 3 words for you: Online Poker Addiction. I played roughly 70,000 hands between January and May. Luckily I escaped it now that the weather's nice and I'm good enough that I play just enough to cover my cell/internet bill and part of my rent- but if you're looking for something to really piss the wife off, throwing money down a hole on the internet is the way to go.

Speaking of gambling, I was thinking about getting back into day trading since I was so awesome at losing my inheritance in the late '90s. I would probably also suck at online poker but I don't think people like you could take my money as fast as tech bubble did.

Well, as an aspiring teacher, I'm filling the sitting on my ass role, but am not making any money because I won't start subbing until the fall (can't accept a full job because I'm getting deployed). The idea that I'm done with college frightens me and I really hope these last few days aren't any kind of preview for the rest of my life.

In other words, Navy. The Airborne pwns you and your hand-me-down equipment. lol. I wish you were here so I could break out with the Marines' Hymn and make you go to attention.
