OT: Florida LB arrested for barking at police dog.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida Gators linebacker Antonio Morrison has been arrested for the second time in five weeks, this time for allegedly barking at a police dog and resisting arrest, and will miss at least the first two games of the season after being suspended from the team Sunday.
Morrison's defense was the dog barked first, according to a police report.
You have to wonder what goes through some peoples heads.
that dog barked at him first. Not his fault.
Urban's fault.
After the dog barked, Morrison was just standing his ground. BOOM! Florida logic'ed!
I did a spit take, and I wasn't even drinking anything at the time
sounds like he was racially profiled by the dog
I didn't think my comment was neg worthy. Seeing as how I was born and raised in Florida, I figured I of all people have the right to rip on it. Oh well, can't please em all...
funny i just had that conversation with a coworker last week...about how so much crazy bad shit happens in ohio
That might've been me, or at least I've said it before. I still think that's true. I swear that most of the bizarre crime cases you hear of happen in Ohio and Florida.
Muschamp should have had a sign in his locker room that said
No Drugs
No Guns
No Barking at Police Dogs
Ok.... Yes it's a stupid and childish thing to do but how is it illegal?
It amazes me the things people can get arrested for in this country.
it's crazy. Man barks at dog, gets arrested. Man kills 5 hookers, never even gets investigated...
exactly the same logical error you ascribe to the poster above? Or do you have more information than he does?
Assuming there is more information is the same logical leap as assuming there is not more information.
barking at a dog. You seem to be in the know. Would you care to share it with us?
It's for our own good of course.
Note - this is not a blanket indictment of every police officer in the country - it is a blanket indictment of the entire system, beginning with we the voters.
Plenty of cops seem to have a hair-trigger.
A hair-of-the-dog trigger.
Pigs gonna pig
Usually, I jump on the 'SEC criminals" bandwagon. But the facts here are that an 18 or 19 year-old was arrested for barking at a dog, and probably charged with "resisting arrest" for refusing to believe that he committed a "crime" by barking at a dog. In Florida, one has to wonder if a white player would have been arrested for barking at a police dog, or commended for being "friendly to police officers and their work."
should it matter whether he was recently arrested or not?
love,
jdon
where he yelled "I am Antonio!" to a bouncer before punching him. Link
Reminds me of my all-time favorite Michigan Daily crime note: "I am the cat and I am here to steal" (along with Bagels Spilled Near Hospital Morgue)
"The police had no suspects."
Left out of the article was a quote with the investigating officer.
"Man... that thing was rank. There was corn, and what looked like HAIR! I wasn't getting near it. If you want to investigate further, be my guest."
This is just dumb, kid being a kid, dumb move but come on, arrested? Power can get to people's heads
I am going to guess that had Morrison just stood near the patrol car as he was told and then listened to his lecture about respecting the law (or something of that nature) then the guy (he is not a kid) would have been sent home. Instead he got arrested because he is an idiot.
I presume the canine officer will say that Morrison called him a Schweinhund (pig dog), so it was a hate crime.
and believe that he did more than literally bark at a dog before they decided to arrest him.
...Cleveland has already traded-up for this kid in the next NFL draft.
like why youd arrest someone for barking at a dog.
He must have really been hounding it. That, or he tried to flea and the officer had to track him. Let's just be glad that no muzzles were involved. Ha!
sounds like a racist dog to me
Give the player a break here. I'm sure he was only trying to practice his communication skills for the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party
