GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida Gators linebacker Antonio Morrison has been arrested for the second time in five weeks, this time for allegedly barking at a police dog and resisting arrest, and will miss at least the first two games of the season after being suspended from the team Sunday.

Morrison's defense was the dog barked first, according to a police report.

You have to wonder what goes through some peoples heads.

Yes. Dude, think a little further than just what you are reading. Do you realize there are more underlying facts to this story than what you are simply reading about? Man, typical for people to only see what they read and then make a statement about it.

Assuming you know the entire situation after reading a news article is not the same as assuming the newspaper article doesn't gives you all the pertinent information.

The problem arises in the point where you assume the situational context not found in the article shows the dude was being an idiot and deserved to be booked, rather than assuming the context showed the officer was being a power raging jackass. Now, you could have a flamewar debating which assumption is more likely, but you'd both be assuming.

Usually, I jump on the 'SEC criminals" bandwagon.  But the facts here are that an 18 or 19 year-old was arrested for barking at a dog, and probably charged with "resisting arrest" for refusing to believe that he committed a "crime" by barking at a dog.  In Florida, one has to wonder if a white player would have been arrested for barking at a police dog, or commended for being "friendly to police officers and their work."

All police officers in Florida are racists. You didn't know that? If he would have been white he would still be a dumb ass for messing with a police officer. If you were recently arrested wouldn't you be avoiding the police as much as possible?

I am going to guess that had Morrison just stood near the patrol car as he was told and then listened to his lecture about respecting the law (or something of that nature) then the guy (he is not a kid) would have been sent home. Instead he got arrested because he is an idiot.

He must have really been hounding it.  That, or he tried to flea and the officer had to track him. Let's just be glad that no muzzles were involved.   Ha!

"Interfering with a police canine", and the officer said that Morrison distracted the dog from the investigation that was going on (whatever the fuck that was). But I'm guessing the fact that Morrison is black and the officer white had a wee bit to do with a ridiculous overreaction. Meyer would have the right to be honked, but he probably has to keep from pissing off the local billy club wielders.

Give the player a break here. I'm sure he was only trying to practice his communication skills for the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party
