BLOCKHAMS Caption Challenge Tomorrow
Oh goody oh BOY OH GOSH I can't WAIT I'm on the EDGE OF MY SEAT!
THE EDGE, I TELL YOU.
UPDATE Wittiness
SET Level = 11
WHERE Category = Madlibs
You have a Madlibs column on your Wittiness table?
No. He has a Category column on his wittiness table which (ostensibly) contains a Madlibs entry.
That said, the table should really be normalized such that the query would in fact be
UPDATE Wittiness
SET Level = 11
WHERE CategoryId = (SELECT Id from Category WHERE Category.Name = 'Madlibs');
Except he didn't put quotes around Madlibs, so he's saying that the value of the Category column and the Madlibs column need to be equal. This is all assuming that his query executes to completion, though.
And, as long as we are normalizing, we should move Level into its own Wittiness_Level table.
Different thought: what if Madlibs is a variable?
Today, I think all my code is going to use variable names named after children's games (it's not, but it's fun to think of).
Missing the @
I need more time
"You know, it's still better than rooting for sparty."
Headed up to flag tomorrow sans electronics for some camping with my sherpa.
Blind submission: “and that is how I found her third nipple.”
This heat wave is hotter than heck. I'm sweating like Andy Katenzmoyer at a spelling bee!
