I really like this news, not just because we are getting a visit from the number one player in the nation, but because he's going so far out of his way (Louisiana to MI, rather than just Cleveland to MI) to visit on his own dime.  If he wasn't seriously thinking about Michigan, I think he would have waited until he could take an official visit.  It's still a long shot, but I like this is definitely a good sign.

Really though MGoBoard.  Don't neg me.  247's board means nothing to me.  It's just a silly free trial.  Nothing more than a fling.  Not a true committed membership like the one I have on this site.  You're the real deal. I care about YOU.  Wolverine247 means nothing to me.  You and I, we go much farther back.  We've been through good times and bad, highs and lows.  I love YOU MGoBoard, not 247.

Ahhhh, the old rotary phone. How many times did you get the 6th digit dialed and then hung up when calling a girl for the first time? Ahhhh, the only line in the house. How many times did you have to tell your brother or sister to get off the phone when you finally did get enough courage to dial all 7 digits and was talking to that girl for the first time. Great memories. And by great, I mean, thank goodness for advances in technology.

Well once he's on-campus, anything can happen. It'll be tough to lure him out of LSU's backyard, but there's a lot of great selling points:

-Great education.
-An offense that wants to run and pound the ball mercilessly down the opponent's throat.
-A behemoth, wooly mammoth-like offensive line in the making that will allow him to get 5-6 yards upfield before being touched.

Am I the only one reading this tweet and believing it says he is visiting this weekend. I know he refers to the barbeque, but the context of the tweet still leads me to believe that he is confirming what we already know: Fournette is in Cleveland for 7 on 7 and was going to visit A2 later in the week. Not trying to rain on the parade by any means, this is just the way it translates to me.

Still huge that he is visiting, whether it is this weekend or in two weeks for the barbeque.

Continue freakout.

EDIT: Supersleuthing the Internet, Kyle Meinke reports he is visiting for the BBQ on the 28th. Still unsure if he also is visiting this weekend. I feel I have contributed nothing to this conversation. Carry on.

I got a real good feeling about this one( call me crazy for sure), bt this young man comes off as a good kid through the interviews ive seen and I think the program could offer the typeof atmosphere he is looking for both on and off the field. A Green Fournette backfield behind the line we will be able to run out there with the all the options we have to choose from and possibly W. Shallman at fullback whadda ya kiddin me. Between Peppers Hand and Fournette I love how important academics are to all 3 which in my mind only helps the cause. Just got a feeling there is a perfect storm brewing and we might as fans see something unprecedented in the recruiting world that coudnt happen to a better program and university....Atleast thats the dream right....GO BLUE

Meinke's actual story is here (HERE).

Meinke does quote Peppers' recent blog, in which he says:

"First, with Leonard I'm trying to stress to him the importance of us having Derrick Green. Derrick is one of the best young running backs in the country and with him taking reps along with Leonard they could be the best 1-2 punch in the country"

As others have said, just getting him to visit is a big step, but just thinking about the potential for 5-star depth at RB in the future...wow.

There was also a Tim Sullivan article out the other day which quoted Fournette and how he mentioned that the top recruits do in fact pay attention to where evryone goes, and how it was Peppers who was primarily responsible for his interest in Michigan really and how Peppers had detailed his decision to him and why he chose Michigan. Great to see that he'll be her for the BBQ.
