He may have played better if his shorts weren't inside out.
Besides that, Summer League never tells you who can play in the NBA. It just tells you who can't. Trey will be fine, it'll be good for him to get some experience.
he looked pretty decent. Feeding the big men when they collapse down low - hitting assists on the open man on the wing....pretty good for a first game.
He did some things really well, especially passing the ball inside. I think some of the struggle comes from having new teammates, each one trying to prove they belong. Give him more time around these guys and then the rest of the team and he'll be fine.
They played really hard. I suppose you expect that when a potential spot in the league is on the line, but their effort really stood out to me...I am with everyone else in thinking Burke will be fine. That was a hard-fought but chaotic, borderline streetball game. Trey will be better when things are more organized.
It still burns my ass knowing the Pistons could have had Trey. I'm not sure I'll get over this anytime soon either!
Upon rewatching the game and reading the video description, I think he did pretty well actually. 8 points, 7 reboounds, and 5 assists seem like solid numbers all around, obviously it would'be been nice to see him finish on some of those drives, but it doesn't seem like he was having issues getting in the paint.
Also, it appears that summer league games are lower scoring, are the games shorter perhaps?
