EMU Football has a corporate motto

Submitted by robpollard on

I was just walking through the EMU Student Center (i.e., their student union) and saw a lovely banner of Coach English and a few of his players. It had these words emblazoned:
"Embrace the Process" - Coach English

(the version I saw had English & the players more prominent and not all the background stuff)

Now, I understand they can't go with something like, "Those Who Stay Will be Champions" (at least not yet) and I can also understand you have to emphasize something that focuses on building up, brick by brick, one of the least successful programs in all of Div 1-A. But couldn't he come up with something just a bit less corporate? It's this kind of bland stuff you see emblazoned on mugs handed out by HR at Initech.

How about, "Nowhere to go but up", "Accentuate the Positive", "1987 Raisin Bowl Champions" or "We are (formerly) Hurons"? Any better ideas for our Washtenaw County neighbors?

don't knock Eastern. i have nothing but love for Ron English and wish him and that program all the best. i found it disappointing that ESPN has them in their Bottom 10 after losing 2 tight games, one of which was to a team that should have blown them out. I think he'll get that program better than it has been in a long time just based off of his coaching past and the fact that he has a name for himself around here so kids that may have previously wanted to jet for another in-state school will stick around to play for him.

1. GO BLUE
2. GO EAGLES

(gotta say, i did like the "embrace the emu" comment though, but that was more of a dig at ND and i'm all for that)

I normally have no ill feeling toward EMU, and with all the ties thay have to UM, I really do with them well.

However, since we play them this week, for now they are our enemy. An enemy deserves no mercy!

Fear does not exist in this dojo, does it?!
