MgoUser Crystal Ball Picks

Submitted by Allin4Blue on

There hasn't been a lot of recruiting posts lately and frankly I am really bored at work.... so, I thought I would make a list of Michigan targets and have the MgoUser's make their crystal ball picks. Feel free to add any potential Michigan targets that I might have missed.  Here are my "expert" picks...

Da'Shawn Hand - Michigan

Adoree' Jackson - USC

John "Juju" Smith - USC

Artavis Scott - Michigan

Parrker Westphal - Michigan

KJ Williams - Michigan

Kalen Ballage- Oregon

Darrion Owens - Georgia

Braden Smith- ND

Jonathan Hilliman- Ohio St

Noah Furbush- Michigan

Dwight Williams - Michigan (my dark horse pick)

Westphal's recruitment is certainly reminicent of a certain 5* wideout last year (although without the perceived improprieties).  I have greater hope for McDowell, but the longer it goes.....  If Hand commits I wonder if it will draw serious interest from Fournette?

I'm with you in thinking that Jackson is more likely to go to Michigan than USC, especially if we get the added bonus of Dwight Williams.  Where's Montae Nicholson on OP's list?  I really don't think he should be far behind Juju in the rankings.

Since the Crystal Ball feature is for those where you are quite confident about, my list is quite short....

Westphal - UM

Scott - UM

J Jones - OSU

Dickerson - Stanford

Clifton Garrett - LSU

Lattimore - OSU

Although I feel less confident about Westphal/Scott after yesterday's offers, I feel that Scott will commit at the BBQ or shortly thereafter.  It will be interesting if Canteen/Watson commit before the BBQ though.  As for Hand/McDowell, I think it's too early to say....while UM is in the driver's seat, there is still a lot of time and a lot of visits ahead.

Da'Shawn Hand - Michigan - Agree.

Adoree' Jackson - USC - Agree, but it's not a slam dunk.  I think Mattison and Peppers have him thinking.

John "Juju" Smith - USC - Agree because I really don't know much about him

Malik McDowell - Michigan - Agree, as a 3 tech.

Joe Mixon - USC - Sure, I guess so as I haven't followed his recruitmen much.

Jamarco Jones- Ohio St - Yup, and O-Zone/11 Warriors will be here in droves talking smack that this proves that Urban is a recruiting god.

Garrett Dickerson - Stanford - Agree

Artavis Scott - Michigan - Agree unless Canteen commits before he does.

Parrker Westphal - Michigan - Agree unless Jackson commits to Michigan.

KJ Williams - Michigan - Only if they lose out on Scott.  If Scott commits, KJ is elsewhere.

Kalen Ballage- Oregon - If they offer, yes.  If not?  Michigan is right there.

Darrion Owens - Georgia - Don't know much of his recruitment.

Braden Smith- ND - Agree

Jonathan Hilliman- Ohio St - Agree

Noah Furbush- Michigan - 50/50

Dwight Williams - Michigan (my dark horse pick) - Agree as a dark horse.

Freddy Canteen - Either Tennessee or Rutgers

This thread is the first I've even heard of Dwight Williams being interested in M.  Has he been on campus?  Coming to the BBQ?  Any info on the connection would be appreciated!  Top 5 LB out of CA sounds good to me!

I think I read he was told there currently is not a spot for him because the coaches are feeling good about (presumably) Artavis Scott. This makes the Canteen offer more confusing unless he just really really impressed them because the coaches say they've got 3 WR spots (2 taken), they have two top250 WRs who the coaches both apparently feel good about, and then they offer Canteen. Strange. I'd think if Scott was falling through, they'd go back to KJ, unless Canteen really was just that good

I'll offer my input on the guys I know enough about:

Hand-Michigan. At least one SEC team will be a serious contender for his services, but I think the sport management professor at UM did a lot to impress Hand. That, and Greg frickin Mattison.

Adoree Jackson-if he picked today, I'd say USC, but if he's visiting for the ND game (I think he is, but correct me if I'm wrong), I think we have a serious chance to blow him away. And he's really intrigued by the prospect of playing with Peppers.

JuJu Smith-USC

Malik McDowell-Michigan. It won't be as soon as we like, but it'll happen eventually.

Jamarco Jones-OSU, which will be followed by OSU trolls proclaiming that Hoke can't recruit and that he's a fat, incompetent slob.

Westphal-if he picked today, then Michigan. But it might depend on how long he waits and when/if Jackson becomes seriously interested. If Jackson were to commit at some point, then I'd say its probably Happy Trails to Westphal.

Artavis Scott-Michigan

but I think Jackson is coming for the barbecue, and Smith is for Notre Dame

Now, for ma picks:

Da'Shawn Hand - Michigan

Adoree' Jackson - See below

John "Juju" Smith - I believe we get one of these guys, but I don't know which one

Malik McDowell - Michigan, probably, but the longer it takes the more it opens up other possibilities

Jamarco Jones- Michigan - don't count out mama

Garrett Dickerson - Stanford, most likely

Artavis Scott - Michigan if before August or so, somewhere else if after

Parrker Westphal - Probably not Michigan - and in a way, this largely speaks to the recruiting prowess of the staff, as I think the reason he'd go elsewhere would simply be because our class was full with DBs by the time he'd be ready

KJ Williams - Dunno

Kalen Ballage- Dunno

Darrion Owens - Dunno

Braden Smith- Dunno

Jonathan Hilliman- Ohio St is his leader, so I will go with that

Noah Furbush- Michigan

Dwight Williams - Michigan, if Jackson goes blue as well

Montae Nicholson - Dunno
