NCAA 14 Demo thoughts; MGoBlogger PSN/Gamertag list
The NCAA 14 demo has been released today. Xbox got it a few hours ago and it was just released moments ago on PSN and is now downloading for me.
Any thoughts from anyone who has played it?
Plus, let's create an official list of MGoBlogger gamertags and PSN IDs-

Good choice going with the PC.
I'll be downloading it tonight when done with football camp. RayO3313. It's original.
PS3- ANIMALMOTHER74
Am I the only one who got error messages for like an hour before it would let you download? Also it looks like it may take a while to download...it took me 5 minutes just to get to 3%
WOW.....no more banner entrance.....that is stupid...
This can be changed for the full game. The demo is just that...a demo of the game play. It obviously won't include everything that the full game has.
Ob4cubanL1nx
Raekwon...Is that you?
Nice pick up on the name though. People rarely get what the name means...they usually think It means I'm Cuban.
Wu-Tang, again and again. Love those dudes Chef
XBL- Greasypickle22 (this was made freshman year, dont judge me)
mostly NHL 13, UMVC3 and Injustice at the moment if anyone ever wants to play.
Michigan has gray facemasks. Still the wrong road jersey. Still the old goalpost huggy.
So far, they are really EA'ing up.
I'm usually not one to get upset at this kind of stuff, but we haven't had those road uniforms for two years now so it's kind of frustrating that they haven't changed them yet.
Do you need Playstation Plus to download it? I won't be around a system until tomorrow and I'm curious about that
Tried to walk my 7-year old son through the download process for Xbox so it would (hopefully) be downloaded by the time I make my hour drive home. No dice. Too much confusion and I probably shouldn't have put so much pressure on a 7-year old. LOL
First game. 86 yards passing. 174 yards rushing. USING MANBALL!!
AN OMEN!!!

but I borrowed my friend's NCAA '12 last year and NCAA 14 looks exactly like 12. Is there really this little progression from year to year?
I was initially prepared to say the same thing. I have 12, and didn't purchase 13 because I couldn't tell much of a difference. I'm pleased by what I've seen so far this year, though. The visuals and presentation are recycled, but I don't care much about that. The blocking appears to be improved, the playbooks are much more varied (I basically have Oregon's '12 playbook memorized. It did not have shovel options, midline reads, inverted veers, or a bunch more spread option stuff), you can now make proper cuts while running, and the defensive AI isn't near as dumb while defending option pitches. There are still a bunch of problems that I've seen, and I probably won't end up buying it, but 14 is much improved from 12.
Agree 100%. Anybody trying to defend this title needs to look at the FIFA franchise. They radically overhaul their gameplay ever single year in a variety of ways, despite already A) having an amazing game and B) being the clear #1 soccer game on the market. '12 was the greatest soccer game ever made, and then they completely overhauled attacking AI, dribbling mechanics, presentation options, and player contact physics (something NCAA, a football game, doesn't even have) for '13. For '14, they have an entirely new shielding mechanic, improved dribbling, even better defensive AI, and entirely new ball projectile physics.
The NCAA franchise hasn't made a single improvement like that in years, much less a half dozen a year. They just try to make the presentation a bit flashier, give the game a few more tackling and catching animations, and fiddle with the sliders to try to fix gameplay issues.
Yes, FIFA's budget is much higher. I understand that's the reason, but it's not a good enough excuse for me to buy NCAA games. Wake me up when NCAA has a physics engine that makes sense (not just a set number of animations for tackling that players are sucked into), or blocking mechanics that even remotely imitate the actual game. Until then, I'll pass.
There isn't a lot of change year to year for NCAA, but I can definitely tell the difference every few years or so. Try playing like NCAA 10 or 11. The gameplay on this demo is a lot better than either of those games.
Your rant would be right most years, but this year they actually did change half a dozen things in the same year.
If you're the type of person who doesn't play NCAA EA games much, you're probably not going to notice a huge difference, but for the people who play it a ton, this is basically a different game from '12 or '13.
Did you play career mode when FIFA came out? It was terrible.

Play sports games and some CoD and will definitely be playing Battlefield4 when that hits
Xbox is Hiatt6
PS3 is Hiatt_6
I play NCAA along with COD and 2K
The crowd noice in 14 is amazing. At Michigan Stadium on 3rd down, you can hear Seven Nation Army in the background and the fans chanting with it.
Good call here, I wonder if all teams get the Seven Nation Army chant though (I'm assuming they do.) If you still have the old MP3 files you can upload the Hawaiian War Chant, and Temptation, and the Let's Go Blue chant to play at the correct times they would during an actual game.
About to download once I get home from work.

...surprise!
We have 1 opening in our PS3 2014 dynasty. We've played since 2012. We are all starting as 2 stars and are very committed to advancing every couple of days. Heisman settings and normal house rules. Let me know if interested....

I want to get in on this... I think I was in a dynasty with you guys before when trouble hit. I'm fairly stable now... PSN: Duster4567
Sounds like fun... psn: gutnedawg
Even in the video game, Special K has made its way into the Big House...
still play the wrong song when OSU gets a touchdown lmao BUT THEY BETTER have the banner jump in the game. I was pretty pissed not seeing that. Running is smoother and even I agree that the tackling has gotten a lot better than in 13. As for the graphics meh not a whole big difference. Pretty good overall. Whooped OSU in this one good too. Gardner was 22/31 with 254 yards passing and around 143 on the ground. Fitz tore it up over 300 yds rushing with about 20 carries. Loved killing Miller multiple times with Ryan
Jesus, play on freshman difficulty much?
But in my opinion Heisman is not challenging. For God sake EA record the students or facts singing the fight songs and use that for more realism! I'm sick of this generic playlist crap they use over and over again
Uhh Rawls is the starting tailback unless you have a different version than I do...
Anyone else notice that before a big defensive play the crowd and special K is playing 7 Nation Army? That was a new change...

Just played my first game against Ohio. Won 41 to 35 in triple overtime. Funches with 3 TDs over the middle!
Can't find it on psn. Oh wait that's right I live in Canada. Fucking bullshit...
I ran an inverted veer with Gardner that looked sweet as hell as it opened up for a 45yd gain. For this play alone Brian will be playing this game on a loop for 4565 straight hours and retire from MGOBLOG.
I finally got a game in. This game is going to be a lot of fun. The option game seems a lot better and receivers were able to get open for once. One quick scan of the field and you can generally find someone open instead of every one of them being blanketed. I actually saw a CB make the wrong read on the route, which was left my receiver arm-wavingly wide open. Then, my offensive line held out long enough to make the safety pick a receiver on 4 verts. That was 6 points. I'm going to enjoy putting a playbook together, in this game, that makes the defense wrong on every play.

Wanting to get in a dynasty and or exhibition game.
My bro and I stopped getting Madden and NCAA after 2008 because it is stupid you couldn't outrun defensive linemen with Vick or Denard. But this looks fun! Definately getting NCAA 14 and Madden 25 (yes just because Denard and Barry are on the covers)
Side story:
I get on Xbox Live yesterday morning, no demo out yet. Someone on my friends list tells me that Fable 3 is free to download and I end up playing that for hours.
For xbox live is the same as my mgoname: MikeCohodes
I'm not big on sports games though, I prefer FPS, mostly the Left for Dead and Borderlands franchises. Feel free to add me though!
I think this game will be the best since 2006. The fact that you can run all these option plays (inverted veer, midline read, etc...) make up all the other shortcomings...
