2015 OL Jon Runyan Jr. Offered - Buckle Up

Submitted by MichiganMan2424 on

2015 Philadelphia OL Jon Runyan Jr. was just offered today while camping at Michigan. Runyan is the son of former UM OL standout Jon Runyan and has immediately put everyone on commit watch for the first Class of 2015 commit. He was quoted as saying by The M Block:

"It's most likely a guarantee that I'll commit.  I've loved Michigan my entire life."

He also said a decision will most likely occur within the next week or two, and Michigan is his only offer, so while it might not happen immediately, odds are we see our first 2015 commit in the coming days.

Especially with how important (and sometimes ignored) technique is for O-Linemen, I think it's especially beneficial to have that early coaching and knowledge.  Look at Kugler... he's 6'4 as well, but I think we all have a lot more confidence in his potential because of his Dad.  And hell, the kid's a few years from stepping on campus so getting worried  about size now is pretty premature (not that you, TWSWBC, are... but I saw other comments).

Agreed.  It's a toss up between who I would rather have: the raw Logan Tuley-Tillman types who could be awesome based on size and potential (because I trust the coaches to teach him proper technique and because we have some depth at the position) or someone like Kugler who has lived and breathed O-line since day one.  Good problem to have, I'd say.

I remember walking by a party, and the whole offensive line, including Jumbo Elliott, was on the front proch, which was sagging so low, it almost touched the ground. I don't just feel old, I am old.

I'm no expert, but for a rising Junior, technique looks pretty good [insert pad level comment]. Someone get him a Cheesesteak. Hopefully, he still has a growth spurt in him.
