2015 OL Jon Runyan Jr. Offered - Buckle Up
2015 Philadelphia OL Jon Runyan Jr. was just offered today while camping at Michigan. Runyan is the son of former UM OL standout Jon Runyan and has immediately put everyone on commit watch for the first Class of 2015 commit. He was quoted as saying by The M Block:
"It's most likely a guarantee that I'll commit. I've loved Michigan my entire life."
He also said a decision will most likely occur within the next week or two, and Michigan is his only offer, so while it might not happen immediately, odds are we see our first 2015 commit in the coming days.

but how does he reeally feel?
I mean, the kid really has a way of beating around the bush...
C'mon down! A legacy should be the first commit of team 136.
I'm buckling up and preparing for another Runyan in Ann Arbor, if you know what I mean...
Former players need to keep having kids that are good at tackle football
And pick us.
*Looks at Wheatley Jr
Especially with how important (and sometimes ignored) technique is for O-Linemen, I think it's especially beneficial to have that early coaching and knowledge. Look at Kugler... he's 6'4 as well, but I think we all have a lot more confidence in his potential because of his Dad. And hell, the kid's a few years from stepping on campus so getting worried about size now is pretty premature (not that you, TWSWBC, are... but I saw other comments).
Agreed. It's a toss up between who I would rather have: the raw Logan Tuley-Tillman types who could be awesome based on size and potential (because I trust the coaches to teach him proper technique and because we have some depth at the position) or someone like Kugler who has lived and breathed O-line since day one. Good problem to have, I'd say.
I hope he picks us.
We miiiiiiiiight have a shot.
So you're saying there's a chance...
I remember hanging out at a house party for a kegger during summer term with Jon Runyan and Jumbo Elliot. Keep it in the family.
Runyan was in the other hall @ S.quad when I was a frosh.
soooo old
I remember walking by a party, and the whole offensive line, including Jumbo Elliott, was on the front proch, which was sagging so low, it almost touched the ground. I don't just feel old, I am old.
When those guys were in school I was in my 40's. From my vantage point you're a youngster.
You win.
You are old - blue cheese old.
Yeah I was going to post how Tripp Wellborne's girlfriend lived in the apartment next to mine, but... yeah, you win.
at our house. some of you forget the big man before that, ed muransky.
Big Ed begets Jumbo
over to the house for his first visit to get to know the guys.
John Jumbo Elliott graduated in 1987 or 1988. Matt Elliott, another fine lineman for M, graduated in 91 or 92. Runyan played in 95. Something is out of alignment.
...my alignment is straight.
Jr. Come on down!
Lil Jon
WHAT ???
OKAAAAY!!!
YEEEAAAAAHHHH!!!
Have a nice flight, sir.
I've loved Michigan my whole life too!
No doubt Braylon is sitting somewhere seething in anger.
He can do that when his son is not offered.
I'm sure Braylon's son will be offered. Brothers don't get the same benefits.
Braylon should be happy - he is the son, and obviously got offered.
EDIT: which means so is Berkeley, so this theory is out the window.
It was still insightful...I forgot about his dad and he was one of my favorite players back in the day.
Thy rule'th of sibling scholarship offerings are dictated by decades upon decades of gamesmenship and state that only the oldest son and/or surviving son may be offered unconditionally. Lil' Berkeley is Prince Harry to Braylons William.
But he's not even ranked!!!! [freaking out/panic emoticon]
Does he get a security detail since his dad is a congressman?
Just not for a Congressman. More likely to guard Morris, Speight and future field Generals.
If he plays anything like his dad...YES!!!
Aaaaand I feel old because his father was only a few years ahead of me at Michigan.
I feel unaccomplished, because we're similar ages and his father already played in the NFL for 14 years and became a US Congressman. I've done neither.
You probably have more MgoPoints though.
just saying he could be....I bet he is....Magnus=Jon Runyan.
Hundreds of congressmen. Set your mind to it and you can achieve!
I'm no expert, but for a rising Junior, technique looks pretty good [insert pad level comment]. Someone get him a Cheesesteak. Hopefully, he still has a growth spurt in him.
Woot Woot!
