Bryan Mone may early enroll

Submitted by Leaders And Best on

Per Sam Webb, Bryan Mone is working toward graduating early in order to enroll in January. Always excited to see linemen enroll early:

Per Salt Lake City, Ut. Highland coach Brody Benson, #michigan commit Bryan Mone is working toward graduating early so he can enroll January

If it happens, that would bring the 2014 early enroll list to five:

Michael Ferns
Wilton Speight
Mason Cole
Drake Harris
Bryan Mone

He's already stated that, while he would like to, the likelihood of his school allowing him to graduate early is virtually nil.  I believe it has something to do with Paramus being a Catholic high school.

It's his decision, of course, but it probably won't make a difference on when he sees the field. We have substantial depth in front of him, and linemen always need a redshirt year. Even if they don't "need" one they have the largest strides to make to be competitive from high school football to B1G trench warfare, while backfield players (like running backs, receivers, corners, and safeties) have a much shorter adjustment period, and can usually make a significant contribution, or even start, right away.

Slightly OT but does anyone know if Mone is a Mormon? If he is, I wonder if he would take his mission during college. I was surprised that Te'o did not.

NOTE: I hope this doesn't offend or come off as "profiling" but I figured the chances are pretty good seeing as he is a Polynesian living in Utah.

Bama likes physical corners, so the offer makes sense.  I doubt it will happen because the kid and his father kept mentioning depth chart as a big reason they liked Ohio over Michigan.  If they are scared of competition, then Bama is the last place to go.

If he's got his mind set on the NFL, then Bama would be a better choice.
