Saturday drinking thread

Submitted by M_Jason_M on
With the last couple of threads ending not so civilly, I figured we needed something cheerful. What are you doing/drinking today? Grad party season is beginning so I'm sure some of you will be doing a good amount of drinking. Cheer up, it's Saturday and only 84 days until football season!

So that I can feel like I earned my trip to Rib Fest (IrvingPark and Damen in Chicago for those in the city) later today, followed by a sit down in the Half Acre taproom with some Akari Shogun American Wheat

I have my daughter's dance recital this afternoon, followed by a dinner of her choosing. That basically means we'll end up at either Applebee's or Cracker Barrell, but today, she is the star. Later on this evening, I will probably catch up on MGoBlog and drink the Goose Island 312 in the fridge.

Tomorrow, something about weeding and finally changing out the lighting fixtures in the kitchen. There's a list that Mrs. LSA wrote somewhere that I admittedly only skimmed.

I want to buy a Vita Mix blender and go to the Farmers market and just load up on veggies and fruit. Make myself some smoothies loaded up with all my veggies and fruits for the day. Need to improve my diet and its too hard to eat all those veggies raw.

So...I started off with Goose Island's Summertime. (Not an Alcoholic if the morning feels like night. Repeat X3)

Going to move on to some Sierra Nevada Torpedos later.

Oh yeah. GI Summertime. Meh...Not a Wheat Beer fan.

Gotta love 21st birthdays.  Lots of fun, even more alcohol.  A quick recomendation: stay soberish (or at least don't get really drunk), in case your GF drinks too much.  That's mostly from the experience that I had this last year with my gf (and all my friends) turning 21—every got way too drunk \on their birthday, and almost every birthday boy/girl got sick.

Last call in Cincinnati is 2:00AM, so I think I'll just have a beer or two before hitting the bar and playing it by ear from there, doubt I'll way overdo it in two hours if I don't pregame.

I'll bet there are some crazy stories on here from 21st (or 18th if you go back far enough) birthdays. Hopefully tonight is just as wild.

That's cool.  I lived in Clifton once upon a time (Riddle Rd, right off of MLK and Clifton Ave).  The bars in that Corryville area are the ones in Clifton we used to hit up.  And that Skyline at Clifton and Ludlow got a lot of my money - I think I went there three times in one day more than once.

We're meeting up with another friend of hers at her apartment at Probasco and Clifton Ave, and the girlfriend's dad works within a block of there (he's in the EE-CS department at UC). I don't know if that's the area we're going to, as I can't keep up with their plans, but I'll keep that in mind if we do.

We just moved to a new city and the older guy next door just brought me a Summer Shandy and introduced himself while I was doing yard work. I'm gonna like this place!

Coffee.  We put an offer on a house last night (because my wife loves it) so I spent the whole night telling myself we can't afford it and then trying to convice myself I'm wrong.  It's a vicious cycle, and one that results in little sleep.  I'm the one who likes to buy the cheapest of everything, and my wife likes having the best, so of course we need to compromise.  Unfortunately, some of those compromises (especially this big ones like this) give me some hefty anxiety.

Thanks for letting me vent.
