Friday Open/Posbang Thread
Everyone deserves to wake up to a posbang on Fridays so go ahead and posbang away. Share your plans for this weekend, your greatest dreams, or random nonsensical internet treasure here.
For me? Once I finish this wonderful paper, I'll enjoy a nice and long 10 hour nap, followed by playing some basketball, and acting like a mature adult by going to see Epic.
Facing some early morning grumpiness?
Enjoy some life advice from the office:
Or a cat GIF:
It's gonna be a hot weekend in the Bay Area so I'll probably be heading to the beach in Santa Cruz
With that slow reaction time, I'd say he's only a 3 star. Although he displayed nice athleticism and nice vert. Still, no offer.
Judging from the cat's delayed reaction, I am guessing that whoever blew up that balloon had really bad breath.
I have all sorts of exciting activities planned.
check clock to make sure.
butchering up one of our steers (it's been hanging for 2 weeks) saturday a.m., graduation ceremony for some friends/kids, guests later saturday. it appears that summer is indeed finally here.
Well, for the moment, I am pouring some coffee and sitting down to the morning news as I typically do each morning. We sort of dodged a bullet or two with some of the weather that came through here last night, but I still have small limbs sitting about the backyard from the wind that we did get. Certainly not grumpy by any means, although I might become grumpy if I go to work in an hour or so and discover that there is a storm conference call.
This weekend is one of those weekends that could go either way for me, working in the capacity that I do. I would like to finally address a few minor roof issues and take care of some items on the long-term "to do" list, but then it could very well be the case that I will be dispatching circuit evaluation crews if the weather takes enough people out of service. If it does stop pouring buckets or if it does dry out for more than 30 minutes, I might even be able to mow at least half of the yard.
it is going to be rocky through Saturday night. I have to say that this is one of the most bizarre weather patterns I have seen here in a while. It has managed to be 87 degrees with 100 percent humidity and still seem "cold" at times in a really odd way. And moisture is like appearing on the ground in front of me as I walk. Very unstable. I will be surprised if we get out of this thing without the "big one." (I know Genesee County got it pretty bad but so far there has not been much severe in the southern part of the state). I fear that tonight may be the night.
Big sailing weekend starting today, it's our big One-Design regatta which means seven to nine races over Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Otherwise my ass would definitely not be up this early. One of the biggest events of the summer. The only disappointment is that it's sitting on top of Grand Prix weekend.
Where do you sail and which class?
I raced out of Chicago for the last 10 years, mainly on an etchells, TP52, and SC70.
I moved to Miami last fall and now race the 52, Etchells, and an A class cat.
Answering in case you check, though I just got back in a few minutes ago and it's late. I'm racing this weekend on Lake St. Clair in the Bayview One-Design, which used to be the Detroit NOOD until Bayview wised up and realized they could run a better regatta without Sailing World's restrictions. I'm racing in the Beneteau 36.7 class. We could've done better than we did today but we got two more days of racing so we'll see.
The waiting might be the worst for you, but as a woman who had 3 babies without any epidurals...the worst is yet to come for wifey! (early congrats to you two!)
1) Waiting to go into labor. The easiest of the three.
2) Waiting for the baby to come once labor starts. The hardest of the three. My wife had the epidural both times. If there is no anesthesia involved I can't imagine how bad this is.
3) Waiting to go home. The most tedious wait because it seems like it will never happen.
My opinion anyway. Congrats to you too!
Waiting in the hospital for 3 days after a c-section was rough the first time around. With #3 coming in late july we have learned to enjoy the few days after a c-section to get some rest and let the nurses take care of the little one.
Also I know c-sections suck for the women, my wife has had 2 and wil have another one this time, but being able to plan when you're going to the hospital is sooooo nice! None of that waking up in the midle of the night all paniced to rush to the hosiptal. plus I can schedule vacation days wel in advance!
Mine's at 38 weeks today. I already can't stand the suspense.
it will most likely be a baby.
good for you and lionsbob above. congrats to mama(s) as well.
My wife starts the Ross weekend MBA program today and on Sunday we leave for our honeymoon.
We live in Minnesota so Ann Arbor today/tomorrow will be exotic. Then off to Central America.
Tomorrow: little bro is getting married. Gonna be a busy weekend.
Already been Friday for 19 hours. Not sure exactly what the weekend will bring, but probably copious amounts of Tsingtao.
Sun pours in the shades, the birds chirp and the buses are picking kids up all around the neighborhood and we are here, just you and I in the afterglow of an early morning pos-bang, I could do this forever. A soft kiss, I pull you in close, shhh don't speak, especially about mark dantonio, just let the moment wash over us and visualize you and me, us, at the beach together, all day, before going to the rose bowl later on...
Sure that's not the Gold Bond?
Never too early to work on that 2013 resolution. I said last year that you were on my favorites list. Longer posts, with more punctuation could prove to be the key this year.
gotta love dress down days at the academy...
que tenga un buen dia!!!

on a card I closed down 3 1/2 years ago by working my butt off to make sure that situation doesn't happen again.
in too deep. I am in the credit card vortex big time and fear that I will never get out (until that modest inheritence comes anyway). For those on this blog just starting out with personal finances: Credit Cards - once your in it is very hard to pull yourself out, and you will starting living the "credit card life," then it is too late. Just say no.
because those are the rules of this thread, but it felt very awkward: "+ 1 on your credit card vortex!!!"
awkward? The rules of the thread. The posbang thread is just a long conversation about whatever seems to come up. It has not seemed that there are "rules" beyond that.
hot and humid weekend here in Philly with some cold beer and a BBQ tomorrow.
I am hopeful to get a round of golf in sometime this weekend, but that is doubtful...
I'm on YouTube but there's no mgovideo, so I'm watching shitty J-Pop death metal.
That is probably the most powerful wank fuel for the most narrowly-defined nerd demographic that I have ever seen.
I don't know whether I'm deliriously happy or catatonically depressed that this exists in the world. It's definitely one or the other, though, no middle ground there.
Yeah, I don't even. They're obviously better than Nickelback though.
Birthday tomorrow
Graduation on Sunday
Watching sisters softball tournament in Warsaw the whole weekend
Then BBQ
Then who knows what trouble comes from there - I'm young.
I spent 2 1/2 years there in the Air Force, just about an hour from Tokyo. It really is an interesting place and I think you'll enjoy it. Learn the culture and embrace it. Climb Mt Fuji. Go to an on-sen (not sure of the real spelling). And have fun in Ropongi (bar/restaurant district).
Weather looks not so good up at the lake this weekend. My buddy and I were going to go up and spend one day at Higgins and the other at Short's/Traverse City but are now shooting for the weekend of the 22nd. June weather is always very unpredictable.
Other than that just kicking back and waiting for this humidity to move out. Bring on that cool front, Sunday.
