I think he meant to say not expected to start.

The sophomore to be wasn't expected to start as Ryan Shazier, Curtis Grant, and Joshua Perry were widely expected to see the lion's share of the minutes at the position. Perry had been filling in for Shazier during his absence with an injury. The departure certainly comes abruptly and we'll have to see if a reason comes to light in the days ahead.

They are missing depth in two key position groups in OL and LB. Luckily for them their schedule is cake and the only teams with a pulse that they'll face are Wisconsin (and who knows what they'll be like this year to be honest), @N'W (should definitely still win) and @UM (toughest game on schedule). They have a 4 game schedule this year if you throw in a probable trip to the conference title game.

And how many have left Hoke's first class?  I know it's one more year but so far Barnett, Jones, Brown, Carter, Rock, and Posada.  When you first take over you don't always have time to properly scout for the players you want and some players who committed to former staffs don't fit your program though stay committed.  Don't think you can really blame Meyer for the attrition from that class.

Not only is it one more year, but four of those guys weren't even recruited by Hoke and only one of them was a 4 star.  Meyer is losing top tier players that he recruited at positions of need.   Different situations entirely.

So I fully expect to get negged for this comment for being a complete hijack, but I think that is pretty dumb that the Gordon Gee thread got locked and comments deleted.  I came home from work and was looking forward to reading what mgoblogger's thoughts were on it, and found all the comments were deleted.  Lighten up mods.

I'm not actually trying to offend/attack you, I'm just quoting Ron Burgundy.  See:

Doesn't matter where it's from, it can still be offensive to some people.  However, to lessen the blow to those who would be offended, it would've helped had he put it in context rather than blurting it out in a way that made him seem like an ignorant ass.  If he meant it in the Tropic Thunder sense (didn't notice the avatar of who he's responding to), it's still not entirely appropiate, but I'll allow it.

...and have no idea what 8)))))D means, but if you must know, I have sat when I've pissed before a few times, mostly late at night after a drunken outing to avoid any awkward aiming issues, and I honestly don't fart too often, but when I do, it normally smells like ass.

I'm really not, as my +2 karma, and 4 1/2 years here with no trips to bolivia imply.  My preference is to try to stick to just posting gifs and color commentary on this site (as most threads on this board turn out like this where one post captures everyone's attention and spirals downward into unentertaining, nonsensical bantering).  Maybe I was just caught on a bad day, and/or MGoMob mentality turned me into this thread's bad asshole.

Anyways, if I were you, I'd be a lot less trusting of men in yellow suits and tall hats.  That's how Curious George ended up getting taken out of his natural habitat, you know...

Isn't the correct phrase "I couldn't care less (what you think.)" The implication in "I couldn't care less" is that your level of care or concern is so low, it is impossible to go lower (in level of care/concern.) If you COULD care less, that would mean that you have at least some level of care or concern for what others think, and haven't reached the lowest possible level of care/concern.

Being from Columbus and having worked at a club where gee was a member along with Ohio philanthropists the wasserstroms and schottensteins (rich Jewish families, I would bet his audience was not offended much if at at by his joke. Unfortunately Mr pits his foot in his mouth way too often, despite actually being a really nice, down to earth person.

Whether it was the right call or not I'll leave to individual opinion, and I'm not really interested in trying to convince anyone it was, but 112 replies were posted before comments were disabled. When enough of those comments are bad enough, the commenting feature goes away, which is how things are always done.
