was looking forward to reading about a 5* 2014 or '15 Offensive Line target to snap the ball to Shane or Wilton.
Carry on...
Haha, same here. I figured he must be pretty dang good at snapping the football to be a five star center!
Football never even crossed my mind until I read the comments.
I was thinking that this kid must be REALLY good because true centers almost never get five stars ratings. Oh well, I guess that basketball is OK, too.
Has there ever been a 5 star center in the Rivals era? And I'm talking Rivals, not the overly-generous Scout
I really thought this was about football. But hey, no problem with basketball getting some studs too.
Sure, Scout gives out more 5-stars than Rivals, but not by a ton, by like 50%. And we picked up a 5-star center from them just last year.
Regarded as a guard by both IIRC
I fell for it too, I think he should add b-ball to the title.
I was kinda surprised when I saw the thread title. I thought this kid must be really good, you don't see many 5 star centers (football)
Patrick Kugler is our 5 star center
We're gonna have to fight off the traditional blue bloods for his services. I hope LaVall Jordan continues to bond and show rapport with this kid...I'd love to see what a 5-star pure center could do in Beilein's system
He doesn't seem much different than Mitch McGary as far as size and height.
Did you measure him?
#5 center and #12 overall?? That's a lotta centers, mang...
Here's a video with some select highlights of Thomas. It's from earlier in the year, but as someone pointed out, it would be awesome to see what he could do in Beilein's system.
I liked the side story about how people around him did not think much of him as a basketball player a few years ago, so he set out to become a good player and has indeed become sought after. You have to admire that sort of drive to succeed in any kid. I think you want players coming in knowing there is room to grow and who want to be better even when they are good already.
