rawk music to the stadium and the ensuing suggestions about what should be played have only convinced me that Michigan fans generally have poor taste in music. I saw a thread where someone was openly campaigning for Foo Fighters "My Hero" in the stadium during the game. what the shit? is it 1999 or did Michigan Stadium get moved to West Canaan Texas? this one isn't that bad, but the fawning nature of the song's title is embarrassing IMO.

As soon as I read the thread title, I thought of this song. However, I didn't realize how great the words fit until I listened to it again.
Try to be best ‘Cause you’re only a man And a man’s gotta learn to take it Try to believe Though the going gets rough That you gotta hang tough to make it History repeats itself Try and you’ll succeed Never doubt that you’re the one And you can have your dreams! You’re the best! Around! Nothing’s gonna ever keep you down You’re the Best! Around! Nothing’s gonna ever keep you down You’re the Best! Around! Nothing’s gonna ever keep you dow-ow-ow-ow-own Fight ‘til the end Cause your life will depend On the strength that you have inside you Ah you gotta be proud starin’ out in the cloud When the odds in the game defy you Try your best to win them all and one day time will tell when you’re the one that’s standing there you’ll reach the final bell! [chorus] INSPIRING GUITAR SOLO [chorus] Fight ‘til you drop never stop can’t give up Til you reach the top (FIGHT!) you’re the best in town (FIGHT!) Listen to that sound A little bit of all you got Can never bring you down You’re the best! Around! Nothing’s gonna ever keep you down You’re the Best! Around!

The old WWF theme music for either Mr. Perfect, Curt Hennig, or Ravishing Rick Rude (of course, Tate would need to make out with a coed after each game at midfield).

and enjoys listening to loud rap music like most kids from his generation. Ask anyone who lived near his dorm in the spring. The A-Team, Star Wars, 80's rock etc. might get your generation pumped up but this won't work for Tate and anyone else under the age of 25. I mean look at the type of music played at practice. Very little AC/DC lots of rock. Almost everyone here failed.

No Sir You Fail, reasons: 1.) Stereotyping 19 year old as only listening to rap. 2.) "Ask anyone who lived near his dorm in the spring." I refuse to run around Ann Arbor looking for his neighbors from this spring. 3.) Speaking for Tate and saying he does not like "The A-Team, Star Wars, 80's rock etc." Nobody speaks for Tate thats blasphemy. 4.)"I mean look at the type of music played at practice. Very little AC/DC lots of rock." I would hate to break your heart but AC/DC is rock.

1.) "Stereotyping 19 year old as only listening to rap." ~It's not stereotyping if that's what he listens to 2.) "Ask anyone who lived near his dorm in the spring." I refuse to run around Ann Arbor looking for his neighbors from this spring." ~It was reported in an article I believe on mlive that Tate moved in with Jason. His neighbors liked him but blasting "RAP" music was one of there complaints. 3.) "Speaking for Tate and saying he does not like "The A-Team, Star Wars, 80's rock etc." Nobody speaks for Tate thats blasphemy." ~Blasphemy, is all the 35yr. olds around here assuming 19 year old Tate had the same cultural experiences as them growing up. 4.)"I mean look at the type of music played at practice. Very little AC/DC lots of rock." I would hate to break your heart but AC/DC is rock." ~This was my bad, I mean "lots of rap music". If you ever go to an open practice you can experience this for yourself.

being "Fat Bottomed Girls" by Queen, but it fits in my mind. Other non-sequitur theme songs that work in my mind: Up Around the Bend - CCR When the Levy Breaks - Led Zeppelin Human's Being - Van Halen/Twister Soundtrack I guess the idea here being: pick some song with an instantly recognizable opening measure and combine it with Tate's "aww shucks" smile and you're golden.
