Kid is a big Michigan lean, apparently. Has been on campus many times. Only issue with him seems to be height (listed at 5'9", likely shorter than that). Based on his offers / height, I would assume this kid will be a low 4-star in the 2015 rankings.

I concur. If we miss out on a prime time slot WR with our remaining targets (e.g., Scott) for 2014, then Borges should be fighting like hell to put Crawford on offense (assuming we continue to be his top school and get him to commit).
I am guessing that 2014 recruiting will have something to do with how M would value Shaun's college position, but Rivals' Michigan site lists him as a cornerback.

I was 5'9" at age 14, and I am 5'9" now. I was a bit of an early bloomer, but it's certainly not crazy for a kid to be done growing at 16.
It's way too early to confidently say something like, "Based on his offers / height, I would assume this kid will be a low 4-star in the 2015 rankings." He's listed at 5'9", right? I just looked up 247's top 5 CBs from the 2013 class. #1 - 5'11" Vernon Hargreaves III (five-star). #2 - 5'10.5" TreDavious White (five-star). #3 - 6'0" Kendall Fuller (five-star). #4 - 5'10" MacKensie Alexander (four-star). #5 - 6'0.5" Jalen Ramsey (four-star). Especially if Crawford grows a little, there's no reason to believe that he can't be at least a mid-/high-four-star.
He attends St. Ed's in Cleveland, the same school as Kyle Kalis.
the best sports schools in Ohio. St. Ed's is also the alma mater of current WWE star Dolph Ziggler. He held the school pin record.
The school is also sending Ohio's Division 1 state champ at 182 pounds to Michigan to wrestle. Domenic Abounader went 36-0 for St. Ed's last season in winning his title. He is the #1 ranked recruit in the nation at this weight and a top 10 (I believe), overall. Interestingly, despite how highly touted he is, he's only the 3rd best wrestling recruit coming in behind Adam Coon (Fowlerville, 4x champ) and Ben Whitford (St. John's, 4x champ).

All sorts of stuff wrong here.
My guess is that he'll be more for offense. There has been a recent change in terms of height especially in the secondary and the the shorter guys from the last few seasons are still fighting for time. Jordan Lewis is not quite the same and is also a very good receiver. Anyway - Michigan has in most cases started to recruit on the Stanford and ND model of taller players across almost all positions. There are exceptions obviously - but especially Stanford is pretty adamant about increasing the overall height minimum at all of their positions. Bama is certainly in this model too.
I really like this kid and was hoping we would offer soon. Great speed and quickness, knows how to play the game. Doesn't have great size, but can play fairly physical and should fill out adequately. Hope he ends up in Ann Arbor.

Don't we technically have a 2015 commit in Brady Pallante? I don't see how we will have an available scholarship this year the way the class is filling up.
After reading his size and speed combo I was expecting to see a lot of broken passes in his highlight tape without much tackling, but this kid actually hits like a truck. Every guy he tackles wound up 2 yards behind the spot he hit them. With that kind of nose for the ball combined with his athleticism and ability at multiple positions I'm not surprised he got the offer. Plus it sounds like he loves Michigan, which I think earns a couple bonus points with this staff.
Yeah - his highlights aren't terribly impressive from a skill standpoint (not a huge deal, he's a sophomore) but it's big on athleticism and effort. Which is good, because those are too things that you usually either have or you don't.
