Oh weird. I didn't realize the Jags were the ones who took Sanders. Why would they do that, draft both Sanders and Robinson?
They just seem like redundant picks. Obviously it's up in the air how Robinson will be used (especially with Jacksonville drafting him as a RB), but they seem like they'd be playing very similar roles.
But no argument that Denard can make something out of nothing, which is something a team like Jacksonville can appreciate.
I see them using Sanders as the slot/compliment to Blackmon, and using Denard as the compliment to MJD
Per ESPN, they plan to use Denard as a running back.
Caldwell said Robinson will be used at RB, slot WR and KR. #jaguars

O'Halloran is a Jags beat writer for the Florida Times-Union; Caldwell is the Jags' general manager. Another interesting nugget:
Caldwell said "lack of speed" on roster jumped out at them when they got here.

EDIT:
Caldwell -- using Robinson as Wildcat QB a "possibility." #jaguars

Denard seems awkward in this interview with Trey Wingo.
and he doesnt get the whole "eating" lingo. Thought Denard was serious about going to get something to eat.
Denard's known for being softspoken.
Well we know that, but as the guy below says; it seems like Denard is all like "F8$%, anybody but the Jags".
Add to that that Wingo didn't know that he wasn't literally "hungry", that was awkward.
I thought Trey Wingo seemed more awkward.
That was the one of the more depressing sports-related videos I've ever seen. It's the least happy I've ever seen Denard. Seems incredibly disappointed. Guh. (Link.)
Trey Wingo doesn't seem to understand what "I'm hungry" means. I think he actually thought that Denard had forgotten to eat lunch.
EDIT: Beaten to the punch.
good, maybe he can demand a trade or something
Congratulations, Denard! Go Jags!
Looks like the Jags have a 16, 86, and 26...wonder what number he'll pick/get assigned?
Taking Denard literally when he said he's hungary.
Denard should pull down what...$450,000 this year? He sure deserves it. Give em hell Denard!
is 405,000. Also, he won't have to pay state tax since he will be in Florida.
I think something we always forget with these guys is that they had their choice of destinations for college, and then they have no control in the Draft. It has to be a very nervewracking experience.
Yes, it's an honor to play in the NFL, but it's tough to have no control over the situation you enter into.
do not even know who the staff is but they seem smart.
go D go!
So happy Denard got drafted. Now I hope he gets playing time.
I'm so confused by the Draft. Why did the best athlete in college football have to wait until the 5th round to get drafted while the Honey Badger gets drafted in the 3rd? They're both transcendent talents and a little small for their positions. Except Denard didnt have to go to rehab for weed.
Denard has no true position to play, basically got drafted as an athlete who might play RB or KR. He will find success, but it might not be what you are envisioning.
On a side note : Being drafted to this team, he may get to play QB after all, lol.
Jags drafted Ace Sanders right before. Insanely happy for Denard, but Ace has a leg up on Denard already. Unless they choose to use Denard as a RB instead of slot guy. Ace will probably be the kick returner and punt returner. Hopefully Denard can get that other returner spot and find a role in Jacksonville. Awesome that he's back in his home state.
Are that the Jags see him as a RB.
#jaguars stressing they're drafting Robinson as a RB and KR (not a WR).

Does this make Denard their best QB?
"Maurice Jones-Drew told NFL Network he plans to be at full speed "by probably the end of May, beginning of June." Jones-Drew is still rehabbing from a Lisfranc fracture in his left foot that required surgery in December"
Jones-Drew had at least 1,600 total yards in each of his previous three seasons before 2012 when he held out of training camp and ultimately got hurt after six games. Some will be afraid to draft the 28-year-old but most owners should go ahead and consider Jones-Drew a Top 15 running back for now, making him worth a pick between 20th and 30th overall in drafts assuming he is a full participant in Jags camp. That seems to be on pace to happen.

MJD is getting a little long in the tooth...shortly Denard may be their best RB
Jacksonville is the team the NFL has identified as the most likely "London" team, at least partly because of their lack of success in Jacksonville as a franchise. IIRC they are going to start playing a few games per year in the not too distant future and if all goes well relocate permanently.
The new owner has no ties to Jacksonville and is reportedly fully on board.
Denard could be a big hit over there.
Are there rumors that a NFL team may permanently relocate to London?
Edit: Nevermind, I found this here article:
or his ears were really itchy.
I was going to say the same thing and you're the first person I see to realize this. Denard did not seem excited, whatsoever, after being called/picked...by the notoriously bad Jacksonville Jaguars.
He was interviewed by some espn guy and looked even less enthused than when they announced it. Even the interviewer was a little perplexed. He probably is sad to leave Ann Arbor (maybe wanted to go to Detroit?). He seemed to really love A2. He certaily isn't the kind of player who would openly put up his nose at a team that isn't that great.
I think he was on the phone with the team at the time.
I'm really happy he'll get to play in Florida until the Jags are inevitably relocated. They're not the Dolphins, but I imagine it'd be similar to one of us going out of state to play football and getting drafted by the Lions. Great coming home party for him
