5 Star RB/ATH Bo Scarbrough to visit Michigan soon

Submitted by Michigan Eaglet on

Keeping the great recruiting momentum going,  Coach Brown tweeted that Bo Scarbrough will visit soon. He is currently an Alabama commit who lives in Tuscaloosa. I never thought we had a great chance before he commited to Alabama, but getting him on campus is a bigger step than we ever got from Rueben Foster. Gotta love all the great players that want to come visit Michigan and see what it's all about.

2014 ATH/Manchild Bo Scarbrough hopes his visit to #Michigan next month happens. He's not solid to Alabama, wishes M recruited him more.

Heres my (crackpot) theory as to why this is a possibility:

The kid lives in Tuscaloosa and his name is Bo.

He knows of three famous men (past and present)  associated with football named Bo.

One Bo (Jackson) gained much of his fame playing for Auburn, the bitter rival of his hometown college.  Kid from Tuscaloosa starring at Auburn?  Not likely!

Another Bo (Pelini), while a pretty good coach at a school famous for its Football Program...well, look at this Bo---would YOU want to play for him?  Pass

And then there's our Bo (Schembechler), the legendary coach and legendary man from one of the few schools outside of the south that has such name recognition---MICHIGAN!

Assuming this kid named Bo also might be interested in a World-Class education , then why not MICHIGAN!?

When you are a 5 star athlete living in Alabama, in fact, when you live in a town called Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and has committed to Alabama, most coaches don't want to waste their time.

That being said, come on up north!

Alabama recruited him as a RB. I believe that he also wants to play RB in college so that may be the difference maker. That, or him sharing a backyard with Saban.

I heard on another site that Scarborough is being recruited by Alabama as a WR instead of RB.  That may be the reason for the renewed intrest.  That and Alabama already has a stable full of NFL running backs.

Impossible. Saban is the most successful recruiter in the nation, followed very closer by UFM.

Everyone knows Brady Joke only utilizes negative recruiting.

Even if there is no commitment I think the larger message this is sending to all the top recruits in the nation is that Michigan is a place elite players want to seriously consider. As the word gets around that you have the best players in the nation visiting it makes everyone really wonder what they are missing

...regardless if we land him or not, getting another blue-chip like this on campus is great for word-of-mouth recruiting which is sure to flow on the twittersphere to other high-profile recruits!

According to the chatter after the Harris commitment we are probably offering alot of cash to Scarbrough to at least take a look.

Seriously though, I don't see anything in this. But maybe the Green commitment got his attention and he can see all the offensive linemen here. Good press nonetheless.

I thought I heard he was only visiting because he was at a camp nearby and he just figured "what the hell?" That being said, I suppose he wouldn't even bother coming if he didn't have at least a basic level of interest.

I'm not getting my hopes up, and my guess is he'll end up at Bama regardless. But, if we were somehow able to poach this kid out of Saban's backyard. Wow.....

We always see southern kids saying they will come up for a visit, it usually does not materialize.  I peg it at 10% chance he gets within Treetown city limits.

Everyone always says that a commit will not come but it happened with Derrick Green at the beginning when everyone was saying that we didn't have a chance and Drake Harris at first when he was commited to MSU.  Now I don't expect him to commit to us but the coaches have shown that everything is a possibility.

While it's obviously a long shot, getting him here for a visit is always a good thing.  I like his highlights but actually agree that WR may be his best fit--he bounced every single run outside.  We don't need that from our RBs.

As RBs go, I'd prefer Mixon.
