Michigan Football Spring Game Open Thread

Submitted by reshp1 on

Since I can't stream the game live because I have Comcast (*shakes fist*) I figured I'd live vicariously through you guys that can watch live or that are at the Big House.

Posts thoughts and observations here.

Is there any sort of anxiousness from the lack of "early" commitments? If michigan misses out on these athletes were put in a spot where we offer second rate players. I haven't been following recruiting as closely as I like so I don't know our positions with some of these guys.

We are having a small class so there should be no anxiousness. We are in very good positions with a lot of top players who plan on deciding later in the recruiting process. I trust the coaches with their plan. Don't doubt them.

He looks a little bit stiff.  I'm not sure if he has the lateral movement to be truly Jake Ryan-esque.  He looks a little like a weakside defensive end to me, maybe more like Brennen Beyer than Jake Ryan.

it's also available on your smartphone or other electronic device on iHeart Radio.

I installed it last weekend on my android phone, now I can put it to good use and listen to WTKA's live coverage while I drive up to GR for a nephew's wedding today.  Just tuned in; they're right now talking about changes Mattison has been making with the defense due to the loss of Jake Ryan (and occasionally even mentioning the on-field action of the Alumni Game).

For those who can't watch the game until the replay at 9pm but want updates in this thread.

I'm going to try and give as much play-by-play as possible.

Between commercials, time between drills, and the fact that this is THE FORT and they're not going to give us much...I feel like I can take some time to give as much detail as possible to keep me entertained.

My guess is that they'll do some drills then do 1st team O vs. 1st team D, 2nd team O vs. 2nd team D and rotate for about 50-60 plays. But that's just based off what we've done in the past.

Michigan and Ohio wouldn't move their start time for the Spring Games...can't say I blame either school.

Also funny, and by funny I mean annoying, is that here in San Diego I get 5 different Big Ten Network channels on Time Warner Cable, yet the dumb thing is that each channel is ALWAYS showing the exact same thing as the other channels!  What's the point of having 5 different BTN channels if they show the same damn thing all the time?!  This would be the ONE TIME that I would actually like to be able to use multiple channels, so that I could watch the Michigan game live instead of dvr'ing the tape delay.

now that I think about it, I do remember being able to watch a few different Big Ten games by flipping back and forth between the channels last fall.  I guess I was just venting because the other 9 months of the year the channels all show the same thing, and I was hoping that today they'd make use of the many channels.

When I signed up with them I had to pay extra to get the BTN through that added sports package.  I'm not sure if that's different now for new customers.  Heck, I might be overpaying now if it's now part of the basic package.
