McGary already said he's coming back. I'm assuming GR3 will be as well? And Spike of course will be back.

Michigan isn't too bad off considering we're losing Tre and Tim.

Why's he wasting his time on basketball?  With a fivehead, the height, and an ugly mug like that, he could be the next Peter Crouch.

since you find it necessary to repeatedly point out that Herm is not exactly who he pretends to be.  Heck, you now make this point in every single post, given your tagline.  I think it's time to close up shop on your detective work -- your mission is accomplished, and you may consider it common knowledge that Herm is a parody and not an actual curmudgeon.

I missed those 5.  That being said, Really?  Was Harris that good?  He had some impressive games but I don't see that.  (In all honesty, I looked at a few mock drafts and did not see his name, it may have been before it was discussed as an option.)

Chad Ford has Harris at 10 to Minnesota in the mock draft from yesterday.  I hope he takes that as sound advice....and our guys stay far away from it.

Huh? Draft Express (usually pretty legit) has him as the 24th prospect and has Payne as 42nd. Harris would be a surefire lottery pick if he was a couple inches taller (listed at 6-4) much in the same way Burke would be a for sure top 3 pick if he was a couple inches taller.

For Comparison, they have Burke at #7, McGary at #17, GRIII at #21, and Thjr at #59.

An oversight on my part.  I looked at a couple a little bit ago and he was not on them.  I said to myself "that makes sense, he is somewhat of a lumbering guard with a very streaky jump shot and who struggles to find his own shot and comes complete with concerning back problems that already require surgery."  I guess I was wrong on the draft boards (but not on my analysis).

In a strictly abstract sense, it doesn't bother me if IU has a good basketball team and they get some good recruits out of that state.  IU grads don't particularly offend me.

But the notion that the departures of Oladipo and Zeller will send a Crean team back to the dark ages is pretty appealing.

to play depleted rosters?  Just as I want OSU to be good and even undefeated when we play them in football, so when we kick their ass it will be just that much sweeter--I want the Big Ten strong in basketball so I can continue to watch great games and, of course, the joy of kicking ass.

Exactly, Msu took advantage of our depleted football roster. Hell, osu dominated a depleted B1G for a decade. All Michigan has to do is win and we will be taken care of nationally, our name carries that much weight.

how others acted when we were down?  Do we really care how OSU and MSU fans behave and, if so, we are no better.  Pretty low bar.  It strikes me that some here like basketball/sports less than the esteem they believe they get from winning programs.  I'll take the joy of a fun team and great games over getting payback every time.

That's an idealistic point of view, but in reality, players get injured (Denard) and players leave early (probably Burke).   It's part of the landscape of college athletics.

The reality is, win no matter what.  I do not want OSU, MSU, or ND to be undefeated.  As a matter of fact, I'd rather they lose every game of every season.  To hell with those turds.

I agree with this but for a different reason. I think that the tough B1G schedule helped prepare this team for the tournament run. I think the tougher games you play day in and day out the better your team will be. That being said I want Ohio to lose every game in every sport always.

Now with 4 starters gone I will be interested to see how Indiana does next year. Crean will be in his sixth year at Indiana and has yet to take them past the Sweet 16. In 14 years as a head coach he has only been to the Sweet 16 three times and beyond it once (Final 4 w/ Wade). I wonder how long it will take for him to get on the hot seat if he continually fails to advance far in the tournament.

Good luck to Zeller at the next level, I don't think he will be all that good, to soft and not much of a midrange jumper, but good luck to him anyways.

They do have some great talent coming in, I just have my doubts about Creans coaching acumen. He had what may end up being his best combination of talent and experience in his time at Indiana and they got bounced in the second round.

I really dislike Tom Crean and hope he fails miserably, but he could still be a better coach then I give him credit for and next year will be an interesting test for him.

Actually, now that I look at it. Their last year's class was more impressive to me. It will be interesting to see how last years non-yogi freshman perform with larger roles.

Y. Ferrell Point Guard 96

J. Hollowell Small Forward 95

H. Mosquera-Perea Power Forward 93

P. Jurkin Center 90

the 2013 class is bigger but perhaps lacks the depth of high-end talent.

Also, I agree with you about crean. He doesn't seem to have the same penchant for player development, with oladipo being his only really positive example I can think of.
