OT-The Twitterz

Submitted by KingsWolverine on
So as I was watching the game last night, I was loving scrolling through my twitter feed and seeing all the tweets and retweets for Spike. As I was retweeting the players tweets today, seemed as though they weren't allowed or not using twitter the entire tournament, I thought wow all 11 of my followers get to see this and they're not even Michigan fans. So I'm asking the people on here for some twitter handles. Who better to follow and have follow me than my fellow MGoBloggers?? I know not everyone uses twitter and some of you can't stand it, so if you're one of those people and are still reading this I'd find another thread. For everyone else, mine is @AndrewReyes27. Give me a follow and I'll follow you back. Thanks and GO BLUE!!

They think they are better then you. They also think you can't have interaction with players even though that us why 90% of players are on twitter. Also they have nothing worth tweeting, so they decide to pile on you by looking up your tweets to have the "that guy" post.

If they didn't want fans to follow then maybe they should tweet "follow my boy yadayada over and over. Just today McGary tweeted to Michigan fans to follow Jordan Morgan. I don't tweet players often unless it is topical.

You said they want to talk to you.

Yes, many people who take twitter seriously want lots of followers.

No, they don't really want to be your friend or care what you have to say in return.

Being a follower of a person != being a friend.  I follow Pizza Hut - I don't expect the Meat Lover's pizza to come to my birthday party.  Except when it is held at Pizza Hut.

to this post but Pizza Hut is the absolute worst pizza of any chain I've tried, except maybe Papa John's. That shit is pathetically bad. And I'm not even a pizza snob, just a meat lovers guy.

Anyway, back to discussing how stupid twitter is....

Amen, I had Pizza Hut for the first time in about 8 years last month and was reminded why I never go there. Absolutely terrible. Completely disagree about Papa John's though, they're my favorite pizza chain.

This is just how I twitter:

If famous person asks question- cool to respond

If famous person mentions something interesting to me- cool to respond about the topic

If famous person mentions something and I want to go on some unrelated topic- I do not respond because I have had message board etiquette drilled into me and off topic things drive me crazy.

I know this is hard for you to believe, but the players are college kids who at the end of the day want to goof off and watch cartoons / reruns of their favorite TV shows. The "obsessive" fans who ask them about football 24/7 and see them as nothing but players annoy me.

if Countess is going to say anything about his knee, it shouldn't be (and will not be) to the twitter handle of some dude with 11 followers. He's just annoying and clogging up player's feeds.

I'm almost 40 and I don't think there's anything generational about Twitter. It's the best tool we have now to find out about things as they are happening. If that sort of information is important to you, you will like Twitter. For example, bacon flavored condoms are now available. Without Twitter, I wouldn't have this important information.

The majority of the people I follow are over 40 and none of them have any trouble with Twitter. I understand that people who don't use Twitter can be confused by it, but it takes almost no time to get the hang of it, especially now. When I first started using Twitter back in 2008? 2007 maybe? trying to follow a conversation was extremely difficult. Now every app you use for Twitter, or just the website, will make it extremely simple to see an entire conversation.

Not being a dick, 100% serious. Did this not read like a line from a horrible infomercial to you? "As I was retweeting the players tweets today, seemed as though they weren't allowed or not using twitter the entire tournament, I thought wow all 11 of my followers get to see this and they're not even Michigan fans."

I tried twitter out for a week or so and it does get very confusing trying to figure out those conversations. I just stopped because it really wasn't that interesting to me. /CSB

I'll just remain a fan of the re-tweet. Plus, you don't want to follow me - I'm only interesting or funny roughly 25% of the time.

I check my twitter about once a month.  I follow some musicians, comedians and other random people I find interesting.  But, I've just never had any interest in following anything sports related for some reason.  Not sure why I have an Iphone, come to think of it.  I check the blog while I'm at the bar, that's about all I use it for these days.

i'm sure you have more humor than the mainstream media but i will still tell you that is twitter is totally fake. I mean it really is him but all his tweets are fake. last year he tweeted that will ferrell owed him money for the idea of Anchor Man and that Will use to do drugs on SNL. Media ran wild with it not knowing all his tweets are jokes.
