MBB appreciation thread

We lost. To a great team. With our best players in foul trouble. With several suspect calls (no excuses).

What a season. From being irrelevant for 2 decades to taking Louisville to the last minutes. Absolutely amazing season.

I love this team and will be wearing my Michigan gea proudly tomorrow. Go blue.

Yep. I love you guys. Thanks for a lifetime of memories.

GR3 and McGary -- please stay! Improve your draft stock even more and have a helluva lot of fun doing it.

I'm emotional right now, but I have to say that I won't really miss THJ.

Props to all the players, and seniors,

MAD props to Spike

while Burke was shooting those freethrows  all I could think about was that "road to ann arbor" home video that was posted with him talking about a National Championship

GO BLUE and stay classy fans

Also kinda a weird game with all the tie ups and fast breaks

Proud of the team and staff to my maize and blue core. Next year, inevitably, will be a step back with the expected departures, but the future is limitless. Go Blue.

Actually thought they played better tonight in many ways than against Florida.  What a ride this season has been.  Yes, there is such a thing as a noble defeat, and this was it.  Phenomenal effort against a great opponent playing at an incredibly high level and getting the lion's share of breaks.

Great representation of Michigan.

...and whiskey if we lost, But then I said "fuck it, I am proud of this team!" and popped the cork. They are everything to our University and I wish Trey a bright future in the NBA, while foreseeing a bright future for Michigan Basketball. Oh, and way to go, Spike!!

Hold your heads up and celebrate, as it has been said here before, "Sports!"

I'm so fucking proud of my alma mater's basketball team. They fought like hell and came up a little short. What an amazing team. Hats off to Louisville, they had a great team and they were very classy all weekend.

Hail, Hail to Michigan the Champions of the West.

Will remember this team for ages, I really will....Unless we happen to go to Final Fours for 20 years straight with amazing teams year after year, but yeah, no. This team was fun and seemed like a hell of a bunch of kids playing an exctiting sport together....and I'll always remember these guys for what they did.

Until the alzheimers kicks in I guess (way down the road)...

This season has been a dream. From tying the most wins in program history at 31 to going to the Final Four. Absolute success and this team should overshadow the Fab Five. They did this as a TEAM. From Burke to Bartelstein and Hardaway to LeVert. Everyone played a huge role in the success. This team is loaded and can very well have a great season next year like this! Thank you seniors.

I was so glad to be more than pleasantly surprised at how deep in the tournament this team went. They played the #1 seed as tough or tougher than any other team did and just came up short. Very proud of the boys in Blue tonight.

I am proud to share colors with these young men who fought so hard. I hope they understand how special thier season was and how much it meant to the wolverine nation.

Tonight would have been gravy, Coach Beline and this team ARE built the right way.

IT IS GREAT TO BE A MICHIGAN WOLVERINE!

This thread is so much more level-headed than the "bitch about the refs" thread. I hope a big group of Michigan fans is there to meet the team when they get back to Ann Arbor.

I thought those of us predicting a F4 run were crazy. That has made the past 2 weekends that much more fun.

All else aside, Louisville made shots ( many of them very difficult) down the stretch. They will feel like they made the plays to win, and they are right. The 'youngest team in the NCAA ' will have the opportunity to learn from this and make more plays in the future.

for all your hard work and for achieving beyond the country's (not your) expectations.  You played with heart and desire and deserved to come home with a title.  We share your disappointment and will always be behind you.

Thank you for pouring your hearts out on the floor and for representing your university with class and in the best tradition of our great school.  You have everything to be proud of.

To you men going to the NBA - we wish you good fortune and future success.  To you men returning to the fold for next year, you have all the tools, there is no reason to not expect to be back in the running next year.

Go Blue!

This has probably been the greatest week I've had on campus. It's amazing the positive impact this team's success had on the campus environment this week. Go Blue!

Thank you to each of the guys on this team: whether you were the Player of the Year or the last guy on the bench, I know each guy had a role on this team and each played that role spectacularly.

I kept my subscription to the B1G Network specifically to watch this team, and it’s what I looked forward to each week. This last year has been a really shitty year in my life, but knowing that I got to watch this team play a couple times a week kept me going.

To even get that far in the tournament in commendable, but to do so with class makes me proud. I remember shooting around when I was five on my Michigan Wolverines backboard in our Grand Rapids garage in 1990. I have loved Michigan ever since, and this has been my favorite Michigan team follow.

So thank you, every single one of you, who made this season possible. Special seasons like these don’t come around every year, but you all made this one so enjoyable from a fan perspective. I can only imagine the memories all of you on the team will carry on from this season. Go Blue.

Once in a lifetime experience; glad I was there. One, maybe two guys from this time will not be back. The others will have one more year of experience. One more year under Beilein. Looking forward to it!

This morning, I am wearing one of my last clean Michigan polos, and no less proudly than I wore one yesterday.

After the game ended last night, I thought back to threads about a month ago, coming off our exit from the Big Ten Tournament and I remember being among the chorus of voices that said that either a Sweet Sixteen or an Elite Eight appearance would be part of "success" this year. I am happy to say that popular expectations for this run were shattered in a most excellent way, even if we did not win it all in the end.

This was one of the most enjoyable seasons of Michigan hoops in my admittedly young-ish memory, and thanks should go out to everyone from John Beilein on down through his assistants, the players and the support staff as they all share in and are essential to this team's success this year and hopefully moving forward. This team played as a unit, they appreciated each others' roles and strengths, and it showed in their performance throughout the year.

I think it is definitely a successful year, and from how things look, potentially the first of several. Right now, Michigan basketball is in a very good place and in extremely capable hands on and off the court.

I'm so incredibly proud of this team  - from its coach to the last guy on the bench, I wouldn't trade any of them for any one else in the league.  Go Blue.

missed free throws, questionable calls but this team left everything they had on the court and thats all we can ask for.  Louisville is really good and Payton Siva is ridiculous with some shots he was making, tip of the cap to them.

This was  great team to watch and represented Michigan better than we all expected.  Like someone said above we are in good hands with Coach B.

Hail
