Urgent Request for U of M/Matt Shepherd Broadcast Information
With less than 3 hours to go until tip-off, can anyone give me rock-solid information on how to be able to listen to Matt Shepherd doing the National Championship Game PBP instead of the CBS national radio feed? I want to be prepared well in advance of tonight's game.
I've spent the last hour on these internets searching for KNOWLEDGE on how to insure being able to listen to Shepherd, and now am at the mercy of those here who are in the know about such vital information.
I was able to find out that the game will be broadcast in my area locally by WSJM 1400-AM out of the St. Joseph/Benton Harbor area, but 2 nights ago (when I tired of Jim Nance) and clicked on to their "Listen Live" icon, they instead had some syndicated political talk show on. Found out later they were not permitted to stream the game live, but I was given no actual reason (BTW, WSJM is a local-only AM station that is required to cut way back the wattage of their signal at sundown. I know this from the frustration of losing night-game radio broadcasts of Tiger Baseball).
What, if any, are my best options for being able to listen to Shepherd do the broadcast tonight?

not unless they plan on changing from what they did for the Syracuse sem-finals game. When I tried that Saturday night, instead of Shepherd, MGoBlue.com redirected me to the national broadcast by the network guys.
I'd prefer to be able to turn the sound down (like I so often also do during the regular season ---and also do for Michigan Football road games) because Matt Shepherd is a joy to listen to.
I forgot to mention in my OP, I live 15 miles from the broadcast tower in St. Joe, but their night-time signal only has about a 10-mile effective range even in my car. Nothing but static on my radios in the house. It might come down to a decision near the end of the game to hop into the car and drive to where I can pick up the signal, while DVRing the rest of the game for later viewing and enjoyment.
I can't pick up the very weak night-time radio signal from local station(s) in my home. If i can figure this out in the next hour or so, then I can mute the TV and listen to my preferred PBP broadcast while still watching the game on the tube.
Not sure why you'd want to listen to that DB, but from MGoBlue.com:
"Michigan cannot stream its broadcast of any NCAA Tournament games, but the NCAA provides a free audio feed of its radio network's broadcast."
I ran into this also while trying to find a streaming broadcast of the Tigers during a World Series game - none of the regular Tiger radio network stations were allowed to stream it, probably because someone had bought the rights and was doing it on a for-pay basis.
If I'm correct WWJ 950 does the Shep broadcast so try listening off their site? Maybe the iHeart radio app?
for the idea of trying the iHeart radio app. Hadn't though of that, so it's probably worth a try.
What got me wondering about this was, as I was driving home from work tonight, I came across The Huge Show on the radio and they had put together about a 5-minute montage of mostly highlights from Shepherd's PBP of Saturday's victory over 'cuse, mixed in with interview tidbits with Beilein, a few Michigan players, Pitino and other snippits---it was very well done, culminating with Shepherd describing Jordan Morgans game-ending slam and proclaiming "MICHIGAN'S GOING TO THE TITLE GAME!!!!!". The montage was very well done, building up to the climax just perfectly, and don't want to miss his description when we win tonight!

"Westwood One/Dial Global Sports owns the audio broadcast rights to every NCAA championship. In addition, NCAA Productions and selected national and regional sports networks produce television broadcasts of various NCAA championships."
The closest Westwood stations to the St. Joseph / Benton Harbor area would probably be WMAX 96.1 in Holland or WEFM 95.9 out of Michigan CIty, Indiana. The choices aren't vast, but you can search for even closer stations here - (LINK)

I love Matt Shepard. I listen to Shep in the Morning every day. Best Detroit sports talk there is.
I cannot abide that guy or his arrogance. Is there anyone more rude to callers than Matt Shepard? Once Jim Rome moved to WXYT, I removed WDFN completely from my presets.
I simply cannot take the National bias again. And Westwood radio with those morons is just as bad. Even a list of local stations that are carrying the game gives me a shot to search via Iheart, etc.. Thanks to anyone who helps.

In the Ann Arbor area, all Michigan men's basketball contests with a tip at 6 p.m. or later will be broadcast on WWWW (102.9 FM). Games that start earlier than 6 p.m. will air on WTKA (1050 AM).
And hoping that's the ticket!
