MGoPoll // Superstitions // Posbang?
MGoPoll: I am stuck on if I want to drink tonight or not. I can't correlate my drinking habits to the team winning or losing. I did not drink during SDSU, VCU, Florida or 'Cuse. I did drink (heavily) during Kansas. What I cannot do is start the game not drinking, then begin drinking in the second half. I am 99% positive that is the reason we lost to Indiana at home. (1st half - zero beers and a Michigan lead, 2nd half - 2 beers and Michigan lost).

Speaking of superstitions. What are you doing to secure victory for the boys in blue (or maize) tonight? Sadly, for me, I haven't wore Michigan related clothing during game day all tourney long. So I will be rocking a plain white t-shirt tonight.

I plan on sticking to my ritual of only relying on my phone, and later as I'm leaving work, the car radio for my game updates. Saturday night, I gave in to the temptation of watching the latter part of the game with some coworkers because we had let out early, and we all know how close that wound up being after a double digit lead.
Tides have turned since wearing my #EATING bracelet. I'm convinced that's the key to victory.
I have this 5 month long beard that I had planned to shave; maybe I will do it tomorrow. The gray, though, is in the process of turning blue!
I don't think I've ever taken my socks off during a basketball game before, but during the first half against SDSU I was getting hot so I took my socks off. Michigan then started going on a run. I haven't worn my socks for any game since - and I certainly won't be wearing socks tonight!
So I bought a new Michigan shirt right before the second MSU game. Wore it without washing for the MState + Purdue games. Washed it before Indiana. Forgot to wear it during BG10 Tourney. But I've worn it every game day without washing it during this tourney. It'd stink pretty bad right now if not for lots of Axe body spray! Oh and I hadn't shaved since the tourney began either!!
I've got the same maize MICHIGAN shirt on that I've had on for every tourney game but SDSU. With a white long-sleeved tee underneath, just as I've had for every tourney game but SDSU. I'm not normally a wear-the-right-thing superstitious kinda guy but obviously this time it's not to be ignored.
I have been reading this blog for literally 5-6 years and this was the post that inspired me to finally join...
I realized near the start of the tourney that the team has never actually lost when I watched the game in the Kitchen of my house (just moved in this summer)... All the losses this season were watched somewhere else i.e. work, in my more comfortable den, at a bar, etc. I decided to test this out starting with the tourney... nuff said...
Hence I will be sitting (more like pacing) in my pretty uncomfortable chairs in my kitchen... Basically the reason I couldn't try to attend the game tonight... I mean if they lost b/c I wasn't watching in my kitchen I'd never forgive myself.

The girlfriend gets back with dinner (SUBS) like forty minutes before gametime, and when I do drink I usually give myself about an hour with music on and the pregame shows muted to ease into a few drinks and a decent buzz before the game starts; then I don't drink until halftime and after the game is over.
Syracuse is the only game I drank for, but I also went really hard before and after the game. I haven't worn anything in particular for the tournament, either, but I'll probably break out the long sleeve block M shirt I wore for Syracuse anyway.
Also, I almost forgot; pretty much every game (all football, big hockey, the past few for basketball) my apartment has to be more or less spotless. It fucks with my concentration if it isn't.
I must eat pizza for every big game. I didnt during the B1G Tourney and I didnt when we played OHIO last year. Do not fear, the pizza has been ordered!
