NCAA Basketball swag for tourney
I didn't see this posted, so here we go. Looks like the sec cleans house with the free stuff. B1G is very conservative. http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Journal/Issues/2013/03/11/Colleges/NCAA-gifts.aspx
Take it easy on me this is my 1st post.
much... I love reading these, especially the ones that come out around bowl season.
This is one of the reasons I don't think players should be paid...a TV? Are you kidding me?
$770,000,000 from CBS this year ($10.8b divided by fourteen years) and they manage to spend $320,000 on the players.
Are you kidding me? The SEC gets all of that shit for playing in their conference tourney that every team makes? Please tell me I'm misreading this.
sure it said just pick one of them... The selection choices they get are pretty ridiculous, though.
Oh, that would make sense. I just saw the huge paragraph of "swag" and just skimmed.
You're right, they just pick one. But still, vs. the Big Ten's "Blanket, Ear Buds, and Tumbler" combo, that's a very large difference.
We have to be misreading that. Righ? ....right?
Also, the girls seemed to get kinda screwed. Men's final four gets a TV, women's final four gets a tumbler...
Word has it they're all getting some cookware next year.
B1G Tournament participants get a blanket, Ear buds and a tumbler. Versus other power conference participants getting laptops and gift suites.
What cheap bastards.
Delaney is barely getting by. I mean if they had to pay the talent they would have to shut the whole thing down.
LOL one of the choices for Patriot League champions is a pen set. This is so entertaining. A rich booster can't give a poor college kid some money for a pizza but conferences and NCAA give out some pretty expensive gifts. Now does that seem wrong to anybody?
A fouth of a second of comercial time pays for all of that.
Talk about bending over backwards to show thanks.
What a bunch of cheap-asses in the Big Ten! Just makes me pro-O'Bannon all the more...
The kid down the street gets a laptop and tv and you get tube socks and a cassette tape of Zamfir, king of the pan flute.
is a tumbler?
