"Sports Reporters" endorsement of Rich Rod today
Just watched The Sports Reporters, in his ending segment William Rhoden from the NY Times said this:
"The Wolverines have come farther in two seasons under Rodriguez than Charlie Weis has brought Notre Dame is five seasons. Rodriguez has made it clear that if M wants to recapture its glory its time to put the nose to ghe grindstone and work. If the folks in Ann Arbor want more afternoons like yesterday, they ought to stop whining and let Rich Rodriguez get to work"
Unexpected defense, but great to hear.

I hate the insinuation that Michigan fans are whining because of a crappy season and that we hate RichRod. I would guess that while most fans we're disappointed with 3-9, they still could figure out that, in the long run, Michigan will be better off with our shiny new ball coach thats runs the spread.
This is one of two terribly inaccurate stereotypes of Michigan fans, the other being that we ran Lloyd out on a rail.

But it's frustrating that the media portays this faction as 80% of our alumni. It's gotta be smaller than that. Anyone want to handicap that percentage? I'd but it at around 10%

I couldn't get over how much they, and everyone else for that matter, were putting over Matt Barkley. I mean he won and all but was he really that amazing? I didn't think so.

He threw some absolute beauties, and played dinged up in the fourth quarter. Anytime a Freshman Qb wins a big road game there will be a lot of fawning, but I don't think that the Barkley love is horrible.

because when Tebow isn't there to fawn over next season the media darling will become Barkley. He is obviously a good QB, but I could of handed off to McKnight on the final drive and been successful. USC's OL was dominant in the final drive. The Force had much more impact on the success of UM than Barkley with USC, but that doesn't matter if the media falls in love with his power to heal the sick.

the ND win is going to be the most important win RR ever has at Michigan. The fact that he has brought Michigan farther in two years (with only 2 of his own recruiting classes) than CW has in five years of bringing in 4 and 5 star recruits is too obvious for even the national media to ignore.
And he did this with kids who work too hard and get good grades?

We are 2-0. Yesterday's win was one of the best wins I have ever experienced. We're likely heading towards a decent bowl game and a solid season.
However - we're not there yet. As much as it pains me to say it, in his five years CW has taken ND to a BCS game (aided by their rules for independents obviously) and won a bowl game last year. Until RR wins a bowl game (this year baby!), lets avoid saying he's done more in 2 years than CW did in 5.
