Thank you Freep!

I would like to thank the Freep for the scathing article they wrote on RichRod and the team. It seems the team has bonded and taken an Us against the world mentality. The students, university, and fan base also seems more united and this is the most support I have seen toward RR since his hiring. May I officially announce 9/12/09 as the start of the RichRod era! The Big House was definitely rocking today and I'm sure the potential recruits had to be impressed! Go Blue!

I have NEVER seen the crowd like that. It was crazy. My whole section appeared to be on meth mixed with whiskey and liquid anger extract during the fourth quarter, and especially during the last 4 or 5 minutes. Plus the high-fives and screaming and whooping in the concourse as we were leaving was just pure zany. God, that was so much fun...I'm never going to forget that. I'm so glad I got to take my dad, too. He's an older alum, but he was up the whole time, screaming, and jumping all over me at the end. Crazy. Words fail. alsdkfjaso;fi

It will only make RR look bad to dis the Freep now. And the most galling thing (for the Freep, Rosenberg in particular) will be for RR to be gracious, condescending, and kind. RR seems to have the right kind of smirk and tone down to do this just right.

On TV (and Sirius radio) the Big House sounded loud today. The energy was electric over the airwaves. I like the intent behind the post. The Freep has just absolutely lost it's way. I do think however the team effort and unity was present before the Freep article. Maybe I'm naive, but I actually do think RR is a coach who builds a family environment and cares for his players. I think the M team we see on the field is a product of hard work and the coaches and players being "all in for M". I do wonder if the real impact of the article was to fire up the fan base. Either way, I loved the student section and other fans chanting "Rich Rodriguez" during the WMU game and today's victory goes a long way to resolving issues within the rank and file M fan base. Winning really is so cathartic.

that this team was All in for Michigan before the article. I just feel that the article brought them even closer together and they circled the wagons. They've made it personal and I would hate to have to tangle with a Wolverine that feels its back is against the wall. I can't see how any can't like RR as a person. His interviews are great and he has opened the program up. Of course his style is the complete opposite of Lloyd's and I can see some of the older alum having a difficult time with the transition. Yesterday in the stands I heard complaints of RR being to conservative and then not conservative enough after the ND pick. Anybody watching the game with football knowledge could tell one of WR ran the wrong route but, RR was throwing the ball with the lead not the standard Carr version of run left, run left, run left again and the punt with the lead which usally lead to a loss. Finally, thank you Kevin Newsome and Shavodrick Beaver for decommitting.

More likely, the Freep article had nothing to do with the team unity and was just a distraction one week before the opener. I'm not thanking them for anything. As soon as the coast is clear (after a loss), they'll probably attack us again.
